Hi
Anyone know with this new announcement what evidence we need to provide to airline for the new pre tests. It says nothing specific on gov or airline website apart from provide evidence so could you just take your lateral flow test result. Absolute shambles

You will get nowhere near a plane unless it is a certified result.
Self certified tests have never been accepted for pre-departure tests to reduce the risk of fraud.💙💛 💔0 -
If you mean the NHS free lateral flow tests, they have never been accepted for air travel purposes1

You must provide the original test result notification. Your test result must be in either English, French or Spanish. Translations will not be accepted.
Your test result can be provided as:
- a printed document
- an email or text message you can show on your phone - make sure your device is charged
It must include the following information:
- your name, which should match the name on your travel documents
- your date of birth or age
- the result of the test
- the date the test sample was collected or received by the test provider
- the name of the test provider and their contact details
- confirmation of the device use

Self Administered PCR Tests are accepted for the 2 Day Test after return and I'm sure it is the same for the Lateral Flow ones for use before departure to the UK.
You'd better have a word with Chronomics if that is not the case- and the Government as the codes provided are accepted on PLF Forms, and the Certificates for LF's by Airlines.
Incidentally the whole process is farcical !!0 -
Self-administered tests are accepted by some countries, including UK.I've just worked out for my upcoming trip to France, I need a health provider administered PCR or rapid antigen test for entry into France, then I can take a self-administered test that currently can be PCR or rapid antigen before coming back to the UK (so will take that one with me from the UK), then the day 2 PCR when I'm home is also self-administered with isolation until the result is known.+ a statement document to enter France+ the PLF to enter the UK.0

Please blame an English brain fart for this (English isn't my first language). I have amended the post now.💙💛 💔0 -

We have to be tested every 48 hours as a requirement of what I'm there for, so I can use this (with correct timings), but just wanted to point this out.💙💛 💔0 -

Chronomics are of course already advertising their "new rules" bundle for £65 which includes the "entering the UK pre-departure" test and the "day 2 PCR" with priority postage, whatever that means around christmas time !!! It's a bit dearer than getting them separately, but at least I'd only need to use one system + the clinic/drive-through-based one for entering France! None of these is making travel cheap or easy, but I suppose that is the point. I have no choice but to travel so there we are0 -

I'm restricted in terms of rules so doing it differently works out easier (and possibly a bit cheaper if timed correctly) for me.
Definitely I'm having an in person test at the airport coming back as I don't want to be held up with postage but again that's personal choice.💙💛 💔0 -
