Most Lateral Flow tests will be acceptable for entry to the UK, which I'm under the impression are available at most pharmacies.cx6 said:has anyone advice for a traveller currently in usa (ny state) on where to get an acceptable test done? any help would be appteciated💙💛 💔1 -
You are duly pardonedCKhalvashi said:
Sorry, I meant self-certified (such as NHS).Butts said:
I think that is factually incorrect.CKhalvashi said:You will get nowhere near a plane unless it is a certified result.
Self administered tests have never been accepted for pre-departure tests to reduce the risk of fraud.
Self Administered PCR Tests are accepted for the 2 Day Test after return and I'm sure it is the same for the Lateral Flow ones for use before departure to the UK.
You'd better have a word with Chronomics if that is not the case- and the Government as the codes provided are accepted on PLF Forms, and the Certificates for LF's by Airlines.
Incidentally the whole process is farcical !!
Please blame an English brain fart for this (English isn't my first language). I have amended the post now.

thanks for that. the problem is the gvt website says the test result has to be registered by the provider so i guess i can't kust buy a test from a pharmacy and take it home.CKhalvashi said:

I've previously walked into pharmacies (although I have to stress this is in Eastern Europe not the US) without appointment, paid for a test and walked out with a paper certificate of negative test about 15 minutes later. The same procedure is in the UK (although online instead of on paper and with an appointment), so I'd assume it's the same in the US.cx6 said:

The most important is a certificate stated 'not detected' or 'negative' and most pharmacies/clinics should be able to do this for a fee.💙💛 💔1 -
And some in Albania (and other dodgy destinations) probably without taking the test either !!CKhalvashi said:

I can't say Albania in my experience is any more or less 'dodgy' than anywhere else I've visited. The Southern coast is probably one of the few 'beach' destinations in Europe that hasn't been ruined by the certain class of tourist yet (I can think of several others) and hopefully it remains this way.Butts said:

Of course I mean after taking a test on the premises if that wasn't clear.💙💛 💔0 -
So I will need a certificated test from a pharmacy no other way ? So I can't jus buy lateral flow test and use that?0

You can, but it will need to be with a certificate, not a home test where you upload the result yourself.flopsy1973 said:So I will need a certificated test from a pharmacy no other way ? So I can't jus buy lateral flow test and use that?
Only certified tests are valid for use for entry to UK.💙💛 💔0 -
You get a certificate with Chronomics DIY LF Tests as part of the package.CKhalvashi said:
