Unknown Bank Account
This morning I used the MoneySavingExpert Credit Club and the TransUnion credit report says I opened a current account with Santander back in 2004. I have no recolection of this and I'm fairly sure I've never even been inside one of their branches. I've tried the Santander online chat and that just keeps telling me to use…

I have read other related posts and they don't quite see my current issue: I need to set up a bank account that I can manage on behalf of my Mother in USD. It must be able to receive regular payments from US Social Security. I am resident in the UK and a British citizen. I am her power of attorney and also now registered…

Martin Lewis Recommended Bank Account query
Hi, https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2022/09/barclays-savings-blue-rewards/ It says in the above link: and pay a £5 monthly fee – though this is waived if you have at least two direct debits set up. You also need to be registered for online or mobile banking. If there's 2 direct debits and lets say your contract for…

Nationwide FlexDirect not accepted at Post Office Counter
I deposited bagged coins at post office counter. Clerk said I had to put my card into their machine as they don't just give you cash. I put my Nationwide FlexDirect Visa Debit into their machine and the clerk said it wouldn't credit my card because it was a building society card. Well I am now concerned about my card…

First Direct Woes
I have been a member with them since at least 2021. Until recently they have restricted my card from online transactions and froze my online and mobile banking so that I cannot make any modifications such as delete Direct Debits/Transfer Money. Anything I want to do like that, I have to phone them up which defeats the…

Barclays Blue Rewards - Closure
I must admit I've never really understood what Blue Rewards is all about or why......far to complicated for me. However events have taken over and I'm switching my Barclays current account to another high street bank. I've emptied my Rainy Day Account & requested online that it should be closed. Cancelled my direct debit…

I've been getting an error message when trying to upgrade my current account. Bank Account or similar for "Community" Club (Youth Soccer Team)
I'm normally up to speed and/or can find ways of doing things, but with this I'm struggling. Currently I have a Personal Starling account that I wasn't using, so have donated to the cause. (Temporarily). This is linked to Lumio, but the transaction refresh rate is terrible and its not working out. I need an account, for a…

SmartSave Bank
I have been trying to open a fixed rate savings account with the SmartSave Bank but I fail their digital vertification check. I emailed them and they replied "As a digital bank, we verify your identity entirely online when you're opening a savings account with us. We do this through a number of electronic tools, one of…

Downloading Transaction Details from Online Banking
I've been a long-time (>50 years!) customer of Barclays, and use their online system to download transaction details each month in .CSV format, which I can then import to my Excel household budget spreadsheet. I am considering switching bank, but want to ensure that I can continue to download my data in a compatible…

NatWest travel account poor rate.
Don't waste your time opening one of these new linked accounts, the exchange rate is awful. With other current accounts now available giving you the exact mastercard rate, without having to top up seperately, you would think they would at least make their rate favourable for it as a new product. You can even get better…

Missing Bank Transfer
My wife opened a Chase Account and transferred £100 from her Metro Account. This transfer appeared in her Chase Account within a couple of minutes. She then transferred a larger sum using the same Chase Account details and this left Metro but after 36 hours has not arrived in her Chase Account. She has spent hours on the…

Faster Payments bank transfer useless for car purchase
Hi I'm buying a used car from a private seller and thought the payment process via bank transfer using the Faster Payment scheme would be quick and easy. Not so! USD account
I may, in the future, receive very occasional USD income. In the past I've had the funds paid into a First Direct GPB account at a very poor exchange rate as I did not have enough notice to arrange anything else. FD no longer offer a USD account. FD suggested opening an USD account with HSBC but I'd need to open a current…
