With the changing / removing of the Halifax rewards and tightening up or removal of cashback on other bank accounts, is the end near for the Natwest & RBS  reward accounts as we know it?

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

What about the Danske Bank reward account? I've been earning a steady £3 net per month since 2018.

There's certainly a negative direction of travel.

It's worth remembering that 123 and 123 Lite have effectively been on borrowed time for years now, and their 'Edge' replacements are still available. The cashback isn't as generous but Santander are as present in the market as they've always been.

We also don't know what Halifax's new rewards are going to be.

Unlike their competitors, Natwest Group's cashback offers also serve as a method of getting customers in to their cashback portal too - at the very least you have to go in to MyRewards occasionally to get your rewards paid out, and there have been occasions I've spotted a usable offer while I've been doing that. By contrast Santander, Lloyds and Halifax's offers rarely get checked because I don't have a need to.
