Lost bank transfer

I am in need of help and advice.
I have a Wise online bank account. On the 23rd of May I made two separate transfers of £200 and £25 to my Wise account, from my Lloyd's current account. The money was deducted from my Lloyd's account and I expected it to be in my Wise account very soon afterwards, as it usually is. It has never arrived in my Wise account. I telephoned Wise and they say that they cannot see the transfer to my account. I then called Lloyd's and they agreed that the money left my account, and they would do a forward search on this transaction. Lloyd's sent me a letter today saying that they have contacted Wise, and Wise are saying that they have not been able to return the funds to me. Lloyd's have suggested that I seek independent legal advice. I am a 72 year old pensioner and cannot afford to pay a solicitor. It would probably cost more than the transfered amount.
Any advice please.

You imply you had made a similar transfer before.  Did you set Wise up as a payee in Lloyds, and did you use the same payee for the missing transfers?

On what grounds did they suggest seeking the advice of a solicitor ? Given the timeframe appears OTT. Matters such as this do resolve themselves gven time.

Is it possible that you used the wrong account number for your Wise account and the money went to someone else, and they are refusing to return it?

It does sound like @haysteve has sent the funds to the incorrect account at Wise and they have not been able to retrieve the funds from whoever has them and the following certainly implies Wise has received them.

"Lloyd's sent me a letter today saying that they have contacted Wise, and Wise are saying that they have not been able to return the funds to me."

A further complication is that Wise is not a bank, so unravelling what has happened will be difficult.

This implies that your transfer was not to your account at Wise.
Are you sure that the details (sort code and account number ) you used match your Wise account details?
If you made an error, indeed  it can be impossible to recover the money.

How did you make the transfers? Was it open banking (from Wise side) or an usual transfer ('push') from Lloyds side?
