Joint account advice

Options
Hi all

me and my girlfriend have a joint mortgate with Halifax. We also have a joint halifax account for bills

she had a good credir score but I am self managing a DMP so got defaults

we want a separate joint for spending
we both have a current account with Llyods

should we open up another joint again? Will this affect anything?

Thanks in advance

Not really as you already have two joint products and a link between your credit histories already exists.
And nothing stops you from applying for a second joint account with the same Halifax.

Opening additional joint products won't really change anything since you're already financially linked through the mortgage and the existing joint account.

Depends exactly what you want from your additional spending account? Easiest option would probably be to open a new account with Halifax. Lloyds should also be okay given you both already bank with them.

You could have as many joint accounts as you can get.  Shouldn't be a problem.  But why not have all these accounts with Halifax?

I'd switch to Monzo or Starling, then you can have onr account for both bills and spending by using their pots/spaces feature
