Getting fed up with Outlook email
Am beginning to get cheesed off with Outlook putting up ever more interposing commercial screens between initial logging in and my inbox. The latest is a 'break free of your passwords' screen aimed at smartphone users, if you please... when all I have is a desktop PC. I've had enough. They're going to see the back of me. I…

Using two monitors - HDMI cable stopped working.
My computer has three monitor ports - two DP and one HDMI one. I have two monitors that I run off the computer - one with a DP port and an HDMI (which I've been using) port and the other with a DP port (which I've been using) and a DVI port. Overnight the HDMI connection has stopped working. The computer just can't detect…

Idea of cost of repair?
Anybody have any idea of what it would cost to replace a broken laptop hinge on Lenovo G570 please? Somebody I know had a look at it but the repair is a bit too much for him to undertake - there are bits of plastic broken off inside I believe. The laptop itself works perfectly though except I can't open and close the lid!…

Echo Dot vs Home Mini
Hello there, I've got a Google Pixel 3, and am looking at buying a Philips Hue starter kit from Currys (reduced to £115) that comes with an Amazon Echo Dot or Google Home Mini, depending on which bundle option chosen. I was wondering if there is any impact in what I should go for. I also use an iPhone and have a Mac, but…

iPad new owner
I have given my IPad Air 32 GB to my partner in exchange for her old one. I wiped and reset my IPad and reinstalled her settings using her iPad user password. That all went fine, today she had a msg that there isn't enough room on her cloud to back up. This never happened on her old 16 GB IPad. Her old one is still…

PlayStation 4 running Linux ?
From the stuff I’ve read I think it’s possible to run Linux on the PS4 (not sure if this can be done on all versions of PS4, I’ve got a slim one, not Pro or original version). I think this can be done by initialisation/booting from a USB flash drive. I assume there’s a bit of a risk doing this - one doesn’t want to get…

Firefox query
Whilst using my DM's laptop this morning I noticed that Adblock Plus wasn't working. It turns out that Firefox has disabled both Adblock and Avast as their certificates cannot be trusted. The laptop is running W7 still which I suspect may be the problem. Would that be the case? Thanks.

Low tech Swatch problem
Decidedly low tech problem but it's driving me mad! This seems like the most appropriate board to post on. The issue is with the date function on one of my Swatches. It's mechanical and has to be manually adjusted by advancing the date at the end of months with 28, 29 or 30 days in. It keeps on ticking over to a new date…

Phone contract for my son
My 12 yr old son has his first phone, an old one of his dad's, and he's been on Pay As You Go until now. However, I would like to do the following: - use some kind of Find Your Phone app so we can trace him if we need to. Does he need to be on a contract with data included for me to be able to do this? If so, if he runs…

Mobile IP tracking, fingerprinting.
Hi. I have a question regarding IP and device tracking, device fingerprinting from bank apps on phone. I use Monzo (UK MOBILE ONLY bank), so does my whole family and kids. It can only be accessed via a phone app, no PC or real life options to check your balance or make a transfer. I was wondering if those mobile apps and…

Samsung Galaxy Buds question
Hope you don't mind me putting this here, but it's more of a tech question than a phone or phone company question (I think). And you'll probably all think I'm silly for asking, :o but I don't know who else to ask! :) I want to get some blue tooth ear phones to use to watch TV on my Galaxy S8. So when we have visitors I can…
