I'm running Firefox on Linux and today Adblock Plus stopped working.

"Adblock Plus - free ad blocker could not be verified for use in Firefox and has been disabled"

Has anybody any info about whether this is being fixed and/or recommendations for alternatives?

Thanks!

I find UBlock Origin to be better the AB+.....You could give that a try.

The funny thing is some are working! But only a few like for example 'disable webrtc'

prowla: I imagine Mozilla will fix it today or tommorrow but if you absolutely can't wait then:

set you system clock back 2 days and then reinstall the addon.

or install the nightly version of firefox and disable the addon validation.

I've not had any problems with add-ons and all windows and FF updates have been installed.

Yes, same for me. UBlock, Grammarly and Blur all saying not verified by Firefox and then they are working on it.

Firefox's own spell check has never worked for me.

Its not an update. Its an expired certificate. Unless you have checking disabled (or you clock is wrong!) you should get the problem.

OK....Clock correct. The only setting I have found for certificates refers to sites requesting my certs and that's set to 'Ask every time'.
(Can't remember being asked anytime though).
    So am I missing something?

Thats a puzzle - though as you don't have a problem not one worry about. Any FF user (other than a candidate release) gets this problem with 99% of add ons. So unless you have the 1% addons, a wrong clock or have disable signing of extensions (not where you're looking deeper settings!) I can't see how you avoided it.

It will take ~4hrs for this fix to spread unless you force it (app.normandy.run_interval_seconds 1)but frankly most ppl are best leaving well alone less they do more harm than good.

NB Users need to Allow "Firefox to install and run studies" for this hotfix
