Am i entitled to recieve bank statements from 2001 or only 2003
Hi I have just begun my financial hardship route to re-claiming my bank charges. I have been made redundent and am a single parent mum. I clled halifax and requested statements from July 2001 as the site suggests. They said they can only provide from the last 6 years by law is that correct? I was a student in 2001 and a…

HSBC - "Informal Overdraft Arrangement Fees"
I have successfully claimed "old" charges against HSBC last year but still have an account with an overdraft. Unfortunately I still find myself going over this (basically because they "withdrew" the facility shortly after my claim -surprise,surprise) and reduce my facility by £100+ each month. I have a Flexi-Loan with them…

BARCLAYCARD credit card charges
Apart from claiming the exceeding limit charges and late payment charges, can I claim back any of the cash handling fees which range from £2 - £5 at a time?! They are adding up to be around £300! Can I claim back any interest they charged on the standard charges and the cash balances? Thank you in advance for any help.

I sent the first letter, registered to Barclaycard [BC] on 10th July 2009, and they finally sent me statements from August 2003 - July 2009. Not from July 2001. They state "This information we have enclosed relating to this account is all that we hold."

Payment plans & Reclaiming charges
Had a partial payout with Nationwide last month. So i thought i would then tackle HSBC. However HSBC have come back to me and said because i have a payment plan set up to tackle my Council Tax Arrears, they do not consider this to be hardship ( even though the fact of the matter is I am in arrears?). To stop me…

Not such a success after all! What next?
Well, i got my offer letter from Natwest this morning.. offering me a sum which would still mean I owe them £1,000 of my own money! (it is on a closed account they that defaulted). I am fuming .. how insulting! My charges were over £4,000 and they offered £2,759. They say to clear the balance owed to them would be…

Got a letter from the FSA this morning, in response to me sending them copies of standard letters, received from LTSB. Sent about 20 odd A4 pages in total; roughly 12 letters. Now, one would have thought I was helping/assisting the FSA by sending them copies of said letters. To my astonishment, the FSA thought I was filing…

Abbey Overdraft...
I will try to keep my story short and it's not so much to do with reclaiming but it's on par. Basically I had an account with Abbey and I wanted to open a student account September 2008. I applied and was unsuccesful, they told me this. However, the next fortnight I checked my account and I had an available overdraft of…

Reclaiming on accounts with student overdrafts? Is it dangerous?
Hi all, I'm about to send letters off to Natwest & Lloyds (the worst of all), to attempt to reclaim my bank charges. I hold a student account with both of them, and am overdrawn (though within my limit) at £1400 and £1500 respectively. I'm apprehensive after reading that many accounts have been closed down after…
