Hi guys i am new on here but i would like some advice please, heard all about claiming bank charges back so thought i would look into it,went to my bank which is Yorkshire Bank by the way, and mentioned this to the girl behind the counter and she said that all there charges are legal so i would be wasting my time. Is this correct or was she lying?.
Another thing that i am worried about is, if i do go ahead and claim will they shut my account down, it is the only one i have and i have a rubbish credit rating so doubt i would be able to get another bank account
Also i have £600 overdraft on my account which i use everymonth will they stop this because if they did me and my family would be skint:eek:
Thank you all for taking the time to read this............

put your claim in and if they attempt to close your account state that the charges are in dispute and that therefore until this dispute is resolved that the account cannot be closed0

Martins words not my own:
When reclaiming first started, it was common for banks to close down customers’ accounts when they paid out. Yet after complaints, this has almost stopped. The FSA now says: “A firm must not close accounts or threaten closure when it might reasonably appear that this is for the purpose of penalising customers that have complained about unauthorised overdraft charges.”
Yet, to be completely safe, it may be worth opening an alternative, or ‘parachute’, account with another provider before you start.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

there are 2 hard and fast facts in reclaiming:
1) Branch Staff on the whole have no idea what is going on with reclaiming (unless they are users of MSE or bank related internet sites)
2) Always start the process in writing because verbally you have no evidence of anything that has been said.0 -
