Freezing blackberries
Quick question - I have lots of blackberries and want to make blackberry and apple crumble. I have no apples though, so I'm planning to freeze the blackberries. Do I cook them, then freeze them, or just freeze them fresh?

Hi guys, Iwas asking my butcher what she has on offer and she said Brisket at £2.80 per lb, is that good? Don't know what brisket is, never had it. But might try it if that's a good price

Jumper knitting pattern suitable for 98% Acrylic & 2% Metallic Yarn?
Can anyone recommned a knitting pattern for a jumper which is suitable for 98% Acrylic & 2% Metallic Yarn? The jumper is for a female in her thirties. The wool should be visible in the photograph. Is there something else (ie cardigan) that would look nicer knit with this wool for this person?

Why do all my t-shirts shrink?
Hey Weird friday evening question, lol. Just looking for some tips. All the t-shirts I buy end up too short after washing them. It happens with cheap Primark ones, and with expensive ones. They fit everywhere else, they just get short, nearly showing ma belly, lol. What are we doing wrong? :P my wife washes everything in a…

What can I make with these? No one is eating the strawberries and the apples (golden delicious) are a bit beyond eating. I have baking ingredients. Thank you

How many cleaning cloths?
I'm wondering how many cleaning cloths ( of various types) other people keep. I'm just a bout to do a sort out and, gulp, bish some out, because I think I now have too many, so its time to get rid of some holey old ones that hang around for roughest cleaning jobs. As a bit of a hoarder this is a bit against the grain. My…

I sliced some potatoes for the top of a pie last night that I'm cooking today and stupidly put them in the fridge not in water and now they have gone dry. Can they be revived or used for something else? Thanks!

Defrosted a chicken - how long will it last?
Yesterday morning I took a raw chicken out of the freezer. By lunchtime I realised there was no way it would be defrosted in time for dinner so I put it into the fridge - at this point it was still pretty frozen but partially defrosted. Feeling it this morning, it is now fully defrosted. How long will it last in the fridge…

Cheapest Whole Almonds?
Hi all, I have started making my own almond milk but the supermarket almonds are around £1 per 100g and I need 125g for a litre so the milk is reasonably expensive (although cheaper than just buying the milk!) I wondered if anyone knows the cheapest source of almonds? I know I got some from Lidl but I can't remember how…

Does cheddar really have to be used within 3 days of opening?
I mean the branded, pre-packed stuff. They all say the same thing "Once opened, use within 3 days". I buy the smallest block available but can never use it up. I've tried freezing it but it seemed to ruin the texture and wasn't nice. Does anyone know why it has this short use by date? Would it be risky to use it after…

ideas for pureed food for an adult please
My OH has swallowing difficulties and can now only eat pureed food. He is in a nursing home and although the food is adequate it is a bit bland so any suggestions to spice things up a bit for him. So far I've done curries, chillis, chicken casseroles, meatballs - basically anything that has a softish texture and a sauce.…

Help our Family at meal time!
I really need some help and I though this might be the right place for it! Although I try to meal plan it isn’t really working for us, we go off plan more than we should because it doesn’t fit in with our lifestyle or I can’t be bothered/don’t have time to cook. Also what we eat isn’t very healthy or appealing sometimes. I…
