Old style daily Saturday 12 th July
sistercas
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Morning :hello:
dumpling I hope your meeting went well

We didn't go to Fairford, too much to do in the garden. Mr tru has booked a holiday day for monday so we'll probably go then.
We're not going to give Jo Chick any more treatment. The antibiotics were preventing her from getting worse but not actually improving things. She's still eating, drinking and scratching about but not as much and she sleeps much more than normal during the day. Still preening too, which has surprised me. I'm going to let her go naturally - unless she shows any sign of pain, then I'll rush her to the vet.
I've plaited the larger white onions and put the smaller ones in the drawer to use first. I say plaited - and they are plaited - but they don't look nice and neat like previous years, I've created some sort of roundish shape
No matter, they're hanging now so I'm happy. I've spread the red onions out to dry off so will hang them in a few days. All the garlic has been pulled up too, I need to sort that today.

Good morning everyone
I am on my mini Apple ipad. My dearly beloved bought for me.
I chose a Logitech keyboard tray for it to sit on.
Color white and girly. Ok, I did the buying too! Oh just paid.
It is brilliant, so portable. I use it all the time and put it it in my bag when we go traveling.
Just made a coffee. Opened some windows and patio door for the dog.
Here in Hampshire it is dry, slight breeze. It is going to be a nice day.
The resident pigeons are hooting good morning.
Sometimes the x2 magpies hop in my garden and the smaller brown birds.
I have not seen the robin for a while.
I spent many hours yesterday recycling a blue/green striped curtain into sofa covers for a 2 seater in the conservatory.
The sofa is old and was donated to us. A shabby mid brown.
Now has a bright homemade summer look. More fun.
Todays task is to wash some new towels I bought from Debenhams.
x1 is oh! so girly. Flowers and peacock design and x2 are blue/multi striped. I did not want plain towels. Def will shout if these go missing.
Funny how towels can vanish! x2 adult kids moved out and then old towels become dog towels. Dog loves swimming in any water when out for a walk.
Will be doing a little gardening and checking on green house.
Some deadheading of flowers. Sweet pea's need to be picked to keep the flowers coming. Chat to neighbors over the garden wall.
Posting this quick, as i thought i had lost all my morning news, pressed wrong button. May chat again later...
Washed the dishes.
Fed the garden birds the crusts, although the dog ate some :0
Cleared the ironing while watching - Little house on the prairie.
Completed some surveys and one ended unexpectedly. I had over 1,000 points with e-rewards so claimed in Nectar points. Will be moved to my Nectar account some time. I believe worth £5.
Watered the greenhouse and picked the first x2 red tomatoes. We have had many cucumber. Neighbours all thankful. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
Morning everyone, yes it is a lovely morning here in Hampshire and not too warm yet though I think it will be sticky later on if the weather forecast is to be believed.
I'm off to town today to visit Aldi and Mr.T for some staples and then home for ironing and to make some low sugar strawberry and rhubarb jam for myself, He Who Knows doesn't like strawberries, very odd!!!
DD flys off tonight and is looking forward to the adventure in Zambia very much and the project they'll be doing is to make bricks and build a couple of houses in a village that is not big enough to house all its inhabitants, so two new homes in the making for two extended and very crowded families, can only be good. Then they're off for some trekking and an elephant safari in a game park so I'm looking forward to seeing all the photos. She has montages from past trips up her stairway and the world and all its splendours are there to see when I visit her, lovely!!!
Have a lovely day everyone, Lyn xxx.0 -
Morning all,
I thought I would pop in as I haven't had a minute just lately with my Australian visitors. Have you missed me:D
Tru I have no idea what plaiting onions is but I shall go and look it up as ours are ready to harvest.
We've virtually eaten the strawberries which were lovely.
We have cucumbers ready to harvest and the courgettes are not far off. Next will be the peas and beans.
We are also having lovely weather. I am hoping to peg my bedding out this morning. We also need a trip to Aldi for basics.
My brother and his family go home on Thursday and we will miss them but it will be very nice to get back to normal.
In other news my daughter and her fella have found a house and if all goes well will be moving in on 25th July.
It will then just be the three of us, which will seem very strange !
I promise to get back to posting daily once they have gone.
Hugs and spoons all round xxStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning everyone.
I woke at 6.00, went back to bed and sleep until just now. And it was a deep sleep too with active dreams. Seems thst I dream more when I do re 'going back to sleep' thing.
Earlier it was misty but now that gas all cleared. Sunshine is out though rain is promised for later. Did my washing yesterday and no line in the garden yet so hung it on a rack.
Need to drive to Oban to sort out a wardrobe for our bedroom and there is a Homebase there. Got our new kitchen from them and have no complaints about it so no reason not to go there again. Plus not too much choice here.
Hope all goes well for going away children, poorly chickens and everyone else.
Happy Saturday.0 -
Morning all,
Bright and beautiful day here again, wm is doing its thing and will be on again straight after ! it will all be hung out today.
We need to nip to the post office this morning and collect little dogs jabbers (needles) then onto town to pay in OH wages.
This afternoon I will do a bit of gardening and get the front sorted, hopefully OH will do the lawn.
Have good days all xx0 -
Good morning everyone

Lovely day here but Mr Weatherman says it's not set to last so the washing was out early and will be in again soon. DD wants a barbecue this weekend so it's going to be tomorrow as that looks set to be the better afternoon/evening.
Am having a first weekend of the holidays chill so not much else planned. Need to get some bits and bobs of shopping but not a great deal. DH is fancying curry for dinner and there is spinach left over from last night's dinner so will probably make a something and saag dish.
Judi - I hope today is a better day x
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super day.

Morning all,
Still dull and sort of misty looking here across the river. Alleged highs of 23 later which I'll believe when I see and feel it! It's the Medway River festival today, so I might make a trip to have a look at whats going on.
Been and done the Aldi shop. DH's friend turned up just as we got back, so had a coffee and a chat with him. Had cheese sub rolls for brunch. DH is in the garage mending the brake light on DS's bike.
Not much to report. Have a good day
