Confession time re: lentils......
I made a batch of ragu tonight and as I have read so many threads on here about bulking mince out with lentils I thought I'd give it a go. Now, I'm a fan of lentils anyway, so chucked a few in with the rest of the ingredients - smelt and looked delicious and tasted OK too.....but the texture!!! How unpleasant! Horribly…

Chopping mangos for fruit salad
We love HM tropical fruit salad (pineapple, melon, kiwis, grapes & mango). Mangos are not the easiest thing to peel & stone & cube. Anyone have any tips? Anyone bought those gadgets for stoning mangos?

Blender
Do you know of any cheap but durable blenders? I'd really like one for under £20 which I can use to make sauces, soups, burger mix etc. Are hand held ones the same as the ones with a bowl thing? (Never had one before, it's like venturing into a whole new world!) Thanks in advance :D

Heel worn down on men's shoes after 3 months - get replaced or take them back?
First time I've had some shoes which look like the heels can be replaced. I've only had them for 3 months so not sure if this is normal wear. The 'top piece' has worn completely at the very back (I must walk on the back of my heels of something) and some of the 'heel' is now coming off. Have a look here to see what a 'top…

Dinner Party - Idea for Sauce for Chicken Dish
I am having friends over for dinner on Saturday evening but I am not going to have much time to do preparation as my DS leaves for a Duke of Edinburgh Gold Expedition at 3.30 pm that day. No doubt it will follow a similar pattern to that of earlier years where we are rushing to get everything packed at the last minute -…
