Hi everyone - thanks to you lovely people, I have invested in a slow cooker and am LOVING it. Not just the yummy food it's turning out, but the money savings I'm enjoying.
The question I have relates to Weight Watchers points and the end product. Yes, for my sins I'm trying to lose weight and save money at the same time.
This morning I put some chicken and a moroccan sauce in the cooker to then chop up and add to cous cous for my lunches.
I worked out the WW points of the sauce before I put it in (3). But as I'm not eating the chicken as a stew, when I take it out I will be throwing away (or re-using somehow?) the majority of the sauce.
Does anyone have any thoughts about how many points I should actually count for the sauce in this context??? I was thinking of maybe just halving it.
Thank you

If it were me I'd use tinned tomatoes or passata as the base with onions, garlic and spices and maybe other zero point veg. In which case the sauce will have no points and you would only need to count the chicken and any oil you use, although with this sort of dish you can get away without using any oil at all;) I might throw in some dried apricots in which case just add on the points for them.
And please don't throw the sauce away -if you make it as I suggest you can add stock to it and make a spicy zero point soup.
Btw, have you tried the WWs message boards? They might be more help.0 -
Thanks thriftlady - didn't realise WW had their own forums. Will check it out.0
