Do you know of any cheap but durable blenders?
I'd really like one for under £20 which I can use to make sauces, soups, burger mix etc. Are hand held ones the same as the ones with a bowl thing? (Never had one before, it's like venturing into a whole new world!)
Thanks in advance

My records show that I got my Braun MR4050HC one from Argos for £29.39. This came with a mini food processor attachment (good for salsas), blender mug (good for smoothies) and a whisk (never used, as I've got a hand one).
IIRC, I had some vouchers. I always try to get the best, but never to pay full price for it.
Basically, you just stick them in a bowl or saucepan of something lumpy, push the button, and hang on!
Beware of the very cheap ones, though. There have been horror stories on here of them melting in hot soup. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
According to Which? the best hand blenders (in order) are:
Braun MR 4050 HC
Kenwood HB615 Wizzard Pro
Kenwood HB150
Best jug blenders:
Breville BL33
Krups KB720744
Philips HR1720 Comfort
Philips HR2094
Bellini BEBL20
Kenwood BL630
Philips HR2067 Multi Blender
Waring Pro PB20CX Waterfall
Philips HR2074
If you're not bothered about making smoothies, buy a hand blender with the little processor on the side because they're cheaper.0
