Have finally found a house I love but the one massive drawback is a tiny dark courtyard with virtually no sun. There is already a loft conversion so I wondered if it would be possible to make a terrace or balcony or something up there on the sunny side of the building. Does anyone have any clue as to what and how and most…

Have tried searching for it but couldn't find it. Thought it might've been https://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk but couldn't see…

Damp proofing - what is 'Tanking'...
Hi All! Had the surveyors report on our 'upside down' house & he's concerned about the lower floor, which is partly below ground level, requires the concrete walls be damp proofed by tanking. Never heard of it, so what's involved & does it work. There's no real damp evident, currently. Thanks in advance! VB

New Boiler - Water dripping from flue!!
Hi, I've had a boiler fitted (combi condensing) and have noticed occasionaly, there are water droplets coming the flue pipe - just after the steam vapour from the flue. Is this normal? Since I supplied the boiler, I don't want the plumber blaming my boiler if he's done something wrong? Thanks, Ash

Huge porcelain tiles for bathroom - HELP!
Like most MSE'rs, I can't resist a bargain. We're in the middle of doing a loft conversion, and I was desperate to have limstone tiles; but they are WAY out of out budget. So - when I saw gorgeous limestone-esque 60X60cm polished porcelain tiles in B&Q for £8 per sq m, I couldn't resist. Having given my OH a hernia getting…

The broken tap seems a bit stiff…
