Any Advice on actions I can take - EON?
Hi All - I'll keep brief hopefully. Have been paying EON for Electric and British Gas for Gas - Decided to go "dual supply" - as I have a balance outstanding with EON (long story - when I moved in 2 years ago I got a bill for £700 - when I queried they said did I have an outdoor swimming pool - I live in a 2 bed terrace!!)…

scottish power fixed rate-is it worth the hype? rates here
Hello all- Here are the scottish power fixed rates which I signed up for- Electricity; 25p per day standing charge, then 9.475p/kwh Gas; 23.66pence then 2.695p/kwh are these prices really worth fixing for a year. With a cancellation charge of 50 pounds? I believe they don't come down if prices drop. I am an ebico customer…

Gas/Electricity Suppliers, help with decision making!
When it comes to Gas and Electricity suppliers I'm at a complete loss, and blinded by all the figures and prices. With the announcements today of increased British Gas prices, I wondered if anyone could help determine the best move to make to ensure savings, not only now but in the future. I'm currently with British Gas…

Capping for existing Br Gas customers
I am British Gas dual fuel customer. Further to Martin's email I did the price comparison search on capped tariffs and Biritsh Gas Price Guarantee December 09 seemed the best option. I went through the switching process and all is confirmed. I am now slightly worried that it will get rejected as I am a current customer?…

Gas or Electric cooker? - cheaper to run long term?
Hi, I wonder if anyone can give me some views! Basically, I currently have an old gas cooker which is a great cooker except that it is too small for the gap inbetween the kitchen cupboards, apart from that I like cooking with gas. The problem is that I have been given the choice of having my parents Belling cooker which…

Help! I being bamboozled
I'm ready for pulling my hair out - can anyone help clear my confusion:confused: ? I'm currently on British Gas dual fuel (Click Energy 4). Capping or not to Cap update: Important update
Hello All Having just spoken to Atlantic today (after we switched from N Power 4 months ago) they informed me that all the capping panic going is based on spin and to beware.. The capping offers were seeing are at inflated figures equal to or above the saving you'll make when any rises do occur. So does any one think this…

Someone from Southern Electric......
....just knocked the door. I am always wary of these door to door people and most of them just ignore my sign telling them to stay away. He was saying something about a government initiative on saving energy, but said he would send details in the post. Don't have a clue what he was talking about, not been told anything. I…

Fix rate for Flat Sharing?
Hi, I do flat sharing with two friends in London. Since the prices seem to go up soon I was wondering if it makes sense for us to cap the price as well. We are right now with E.ON. The main problem I see here is what happens if I do it as fixed rate and I will be stuck with the contract for 12 months and I had to move out…

Fight back
Why doesn't somebody organise a campaign against the energy suppliers? Not like the HGV drivers driving through London. How thick were they? Using fuel (and paying tax) to try to make their point. What is needed is a campaign to move customers 'en masse' away from the first three companies to increase their charges. Maybe…

gas usage/inefficient boiler?
Hi, I have a Halsted quattro gold boiler (combi) I know its really crap :( We really can't afford to change it, but I think we are using OBSCENE amounts of gas. We have no heating on at the moment, and in the last two weeks have used 9 units (m3) of gas-just for hot water  I think last year our annual kwh was 2-3…

NEW British Gas Fixed to 30 Sept 2011
British Gas have just announced a fixed product to 30 September 2011. I moved to the British Gas Fixed to 12 Dec 2009 last week. I believe I can cancel this within 14 days if I want to. I reckon it'll cost me about £150 a year more than the 2009 product but it lasts for nearly two years longer. Will I save in the long run?…
