Why can buyers cancel bids within 12 hours?
But sellers can't end an item within 12 hours (with said bids?) Surely that's open to abuse by buyers? Another crazy ebay imbalance.

Well and Truly Stung!
I sold a bracelet over 2 months ago. A couple of weeks ago, I was informed by Paypal that the customer was claiming the payment I received was unauthorised and her credit card company were claiming it back for her. I sent paypal a screen save of my orders page, showing that the customer had in fact bought the bracelet from…

Buying from the US... What considerations do I need to take into account?
I'm interested in an item that is only available from the US and it's on eBay. The process to buy seems straightforward but I don't want any nasty surprises cost wise or anything else for that matter. What do I need to bear in mind to make sure it is all above board and legal? Thanks :)

fed up with collections
I was doing OK with collections both with Facebook and Ebay and listed a few bits and pieces, and supposedly have 2 facebook collections and one ebay this morning. I told them all I was going out at 10.30 and they all agreed they would be here before that- guess what- no shows whatsoever. The facebook stuff is easy, I'll…

Leave a neutral or not bother?
I recently won an auction for a winter coat for my DD. The coat arrived and it looked fine, but inside the pockets were loads of rubbish - snotty tissues and sweet wrappers. I mailed the seller who got a bit uppity about it and just replied 'So, you got the coat didnt you!' I feel like leaving a neutral as the coat…

my hermes claims
Has anyone had a parcel go missing when using hermes? What was the claim procedure like? How long did it take, and were there any complications? I'm not referring to damaged products, but things that have just gone missing in their system. I sent a small ipad type device with them, and it appears to have vanished into thin…

99p starting price query
I have a load of boys clothes which I was planning to take to one of the clothing places where you weigh the stuff and come away with pennies! If I was to list some of the better items on ebay at a start price of 99p (plus postage) and they were to sell at 99p how much would I actually receive once ebay and paypal have…

Any advice?
I bought a dress on ebay (obviously, not sure why i put that) and immediately sent a payment via paypal. However, for some reason the payment has not gone through automatically and, after a week and two emails from me, the seller has not accepted the payment. Nor has she replied. According to paypal she is an unregistered…

How (and why) do people sell things on Ebay for 1p with free delivery?
I was looking at completed listings for Pokemon cards as I was considering selling my sons unloved cards on there in a few batches. I happened to have the sorting list set to 'Price + P&P: lowest first' when I did the search and there appears to be a lot of sellers selling for 1p, 10p, 15p etc. and free delivery. I then…

Ebay delivery estimates???
I don't normally sell to overseas buyers on Ebay, purely because the things I tend to send are big and bulky. Anyway, a listing that I have running at the moment has had a lot of interest from Europe, so I decided to open it up to them. I am charging for International Signed for which is £17.00. The item ends on Sunday, I…

Do dog guards for older cars actually sell?
Our 2002 Mondeo died & the new car we end up with won't be the same shape so I'm planning to eBay the barjo dog guard & tailgate. It's bulky so we had planned to say collection only, but I see a fair number of these for sale & not much selling. I'm wondering if it's just going to sit there.

PayPal faster withdrawls
Having enjoyed a couple of weeks worth of being able to withdraw money from PayPal and have it sat in my bank account a minute or so later, I'm annoyed at the fact that they are now verifying every single withdrawl I make (and my withdrawls are only ever for anything up to £30, once a day). Not only are they verifying…

Courier to collect from Northern Ireland to UK
Hi all, I'm from Northern Ireland and I need to send 3 individual parcels to the UK they are not that big to cause a problem but they weigh: 6.0 kg 5.3 kg 1.6 kg Royal mail prices are around the £14 for the top two and around £6 for the lightest. That seems a lot? Do any of you know a NI courier service or an on-line…

upgraded to recorded- does that make me a scam buyer?
I bought something just over a week ago from a newish private seller. I won it for £1.04 and postage was £1 2nd class large letter under 100g It arrived today 2nd class recorded - obviously not signed for (I never have to sign for them they are all just pushed through the door). On the basis that newer sellers on here…

free postage & star rating glitch
I'm not sure if it is a glitch, but I am just leaving feedback for purchases and unusually all have the post and packing star 'available'. It is odd because I buy mainly from big business sellers who use free postage, and when I checked they did offer free postage. Usually regardless of which country I buy from the P and P…

Returning an item
This is probably going to sound like a silly question but as it has never happened to me before I'm quite wary. I recently bought an electrical item on eBay that when received was not as described. Contacted the seller immediately who eventually agreed to refund me, but not until they get paid (apparently even though it…
