Sold an item, BIN free postage, stated same or next day despatch following receipt of cleared payment.

Item purchased 22/10/12 @ 22.06
Payment received 23/10/12 @15.40
Item despatched 25/10/12 10.00 and marked as such on ebay, used their postal service.
Feedback 26/10/12- Positive.

But, stars marked down for despatch and communication!

First thing I've sold for months, so no doubts as to who left low stars.

Was the buyer being picky because it wasn't sent the same day as payment was sent or the day after?

How did you communicate with them? Marking it as dispatched only means a generic email, some buyers love the "personal" touch.

Not being picky, just pointing out the obvious.

I always leave a positive and five stars for everything as long as the item actually turns up in a reasonable time.

If the seller only marked it as despatched then they would get 5 stars automatically.

Ebay don't care about the time though, so same or next day for automatic 5* would need it to have gone on the 24th.

The problem is though that paying late in the day means most sellers ignore that day for ther estimates as that day's post has already gone. In this case though the same or next day was not actually met, and as buyers will only see that guarantee- they will mark it down.

As my post goes early in the day I use a 2 day despatch as that covers me if for any reason it cannot go the next day either. So this scenario would have been covered in my 2 day despatch- just. I prefer not to guarantee same or enxt day as this is not uncommon when you miss that guarantee by a day.

Ah well, so it goes. Will amend any future listings to allow for me not being attached to the PC 24/7,
