3 Current Accounts - good idea?
Hi All, I'm trying to spread my money out over a few current accounts to get the best rate of interest, but I've been told this can affect your credit rating. I just did the free credit rating thing on Expedian - and its currently pretty high (926 out of 999) - but if I open another account will it affect it negatively?…

Affect of late credit card payments on mortgage application
Hi all So I am about to make a mortgage application, but am curious what impact a few old late credit card payments might have. 4.5 years ago at uni I was a few days late with 4 payments to barclaycard over 14 months. Since then I've had credit cards and a small loan and have never missed a payment on anything. I closed…

Strange debts on my Clearscore report
I have been trying to get myself out of debt after being stupid when I was younger. My Noddle report shows very little debt at the minute which matches my StepChange account. However, I signed up for ClearScore and there are two debts on there from Hillesden both for over £2000 each. I have no idea what these are and it…

Next Online Shopping - credit limit
Hi all Does anyone understand how the next credit limit online works? I placed an order an order the other day with them and was told it had been paid for when I collected it from the store? I don't really understand as I did not, at any point, say I wanted to open store credit or anything. I assumed I would pay when I…

The mad, mad world of credit reporting
How's this for sheer stupidity, brought about in part by credit reporting but also because of a bum retailer? One of my lads has just moved, so as you often do when moving house he went to buy some furniture for the new gaff. Needed to get a large sofa on credit, so went to Barker and Stonehouse (they are big in the…

Default Date
Hi, I have a default from Provident Financial. The account start date was 01/10/09, default date 04/04/11, default satisfied 31/05/11 and default balance was £277. Am I right in saying that it shouldn't have taken that long to register a default? Any help would be appreciated Thanks Amy

Missed loan payments
In 2008 I lost my job and missed a few loan payments. I admit I hid my head in the sand a little bit and eventually the loan was passed to the banks in house collection team. I made an arrangement to pay the loan and the account is now settled. I paid the full amount including interest. During the time I was paid the loan,…

Does your RM PAF address need to match the one used on the Electoral Role?
Hi all, After recently moving home, I have checked my credit reports and when I use their PAF system to find our new build home, the credit reference agencies are cutting out the name of the village from the address. Example: Royal Mail Address: 123 Example Street, Example Village, Town, Postcode Credit Reference Agency…

CCJ Complaint
Hi Does anyone know how to complain to the court about a CCJ, I didn't know that if you pay within a month the CCJ is removed. I thought that a CCJ was put when you didn't pay or offer to pay. I also understand that court was supposed to advise me when to pay, I didn't receive any letter. I offered to pay a creditor in 4…

Not sure what to do
Got back from holiday last week, and found a letter saying I had been declined a credit card from Debenhams. I never applied for this card, so was worried someone was trying to steal my identity or something else fradulent. I immediately signed up for Experian to see my credit report, and the search doesn't show up.…

Electoral Roll and address format with Experian
Ok I've edited this to make it a little clearer. I've not been showing on the electoral roll with Experian since I moved here a year ago, and have been asking them to sort it over and over. I received an updated copy of m report from Experian in the post to check if it's now all correct - and it doesn't seem to be. On my…

Need advice!
Hi all, Tried applying for TSB 0% credit card this evening. And declined! Initially, wasn't sure why as I have a £36,000 PA income, have a joint mortgage (approx £190k), no late payments, limited outstanding balance on existing card (less than £100) and PCP agreement. So I would say my risk is low as I'm not overstretched…
