Not sure what to do

Got back from holiday last week, and found a letter saying I had been declined a credit card from Debenhams. I never applied for this card, so was worried someone was trying to steal my identity or something else fradulent.

I immediately signed up for Experian to see my credit report, and the search doesn't show up. However, neither does an application for a car loan from last month. (Although I don't get the car for another 2 months).

The Debenhams letter doesn't have any contact number, just saying to check credit file. I'm not quite sure how to proceed, can anyone give some advice please?

Comments

  • I would be quite concerned about that. You can find the contact number for debenhams's credit department on google. Give them a ring and ask for details.

Debenhams may not report to Experian...they could possibly use Equifax.
