Plusnet
We are currently back with PlusNet for landline/BB after a disastrous switch to TalkTalk. Our speed is appalling as we live in the sticks - roughly 2.2mb! No chance of cable/fibre for the foreseeable future. We currently pay approx. £36 per month (in contract for another 6 months) for a very basic package, unlimited data…

ADSL+ Broadband Speeds are unregulated
Broadband speeds are unregulated as a service if they are compared with gas and electricity. Gas pressure into the home has to be within regulated limits as does the mains electricity voltage. But not so it seems for broadband speeds. http://www.increasebroadbandspeed.co.uk/graph-ADSL-speed-versus-line-loss-distance Speed…

Long Broadband connection delay, after phone transfer, when switching!
I have been helping a friend to switch her Essentials TV, Broadband & Phone package with TT to a Phone/Broadband package with SSE. When trying to do this online the SSE website would not recognise her LL number as a BT line, which it is. On being directed to phone instead, we were told by a sales team member that after the…

Can I cancel?
Hi, I've been on Sky Unlimited for about 3 years, the last 2 of which just on a rolling month-by-month basis. I'm moving house in 2 weeks time, and called them to arrange the move and in the process agreed to a new 12 month contract for Sky Fibre (Fibre was not available at my current address). However, I've recently been…

Fed up with slow speeds
I've managed to get upgraded finally to BT fibre (although from exchange to house is till copper) BT wholesale site says I'm getting 14mbps upload where as before it was often below 1mbps. We had a local PC servicer out who did a few tweaks as we felt speeds were very low. My tablet isn't too bad but the desk top can be…

How can I get to speak to a real person at BT?
I have been with BT for 2 years. I have paid an upfront fee of around £150 per year for the last two years for line rental and I had budgeted £160 for this year. I know that the broadband is going up £1 per month. I would like to try Sky instead as it is only £16.40 per month. I am trying to get through to a real person at…

Broadband no phone
Does anyone know of any broadband you can get without having a phone line? I have looked at Virgin but they seem a bit of a rip off. Given that the normal line rental is £16.99 a month - why aren't the broadband only charges £16.99 cheaper instead of £5.00 cheaper - what am I missing? I don't use the landline at all and…
