Its easy enough to measure as its the exact same as the bt router the signal its sent from . In my case just outside the front door .

Thank you. So you are saying that a BT Hotspot Premium Venue Hotspot is exactly the same specification as a domestic BT router. I wondered whether such a Hotspot would have a higher specification.

I was wondering whether a Hotspot at a location such as a Tesco supermarket would for instance cover the whole of the car park and the perimeter beyond.

You did not ask about Premium .
But yes the bigger stores etc have repeaters but very much hit and miss as to when and where you get a signal . That can be due to the building for one .
