Hi, Can anyone advise me with this please? My contract with BT for the broadband is due to expire in Sept. If when its dates up, I cancel it and then ring up say a few weeks later will I be able to be classed as a new broadband customer and have access to the cheaper broadband?. Its £10.00 per month for new customers and I'm paying about £20.00 per month. Thanks.

I've asked them and they said yes if you cancel then join again after a few weeks then you can access the new deals as a new customer.0

Only drawback is no Internet for a few weeks/ month .0

I would say to them, isn't this a bit silly to leave and then re-join, it will cause you extra paper work so why not just give me the deal now, because I might decide in the interim period to go somewhere else.!Holding back the years...0 -
As the contract does not end but moves to a 30 day rolling contract .It will require user to contact BT and actually cancel the rolling contract just before the existing contract ends .0

Dont forget that if you cancel the contract rather than migrate to another provider you will be charged the broadband cease fee (which i think is about £30).
BT deals for existing customers are pretty shocking though. Its almost as though they want people to leave. Be sure to shop around because others are doing even better deals than the BT deals for new customers.
I will be having my new sky fibre unlimited activated this week. 12 month min term and over £10 per month cheaper than BT for the equivalent deal.0 -
Thank You all for taking the time to reply why should we be ripped off like we are by BT? its not right.0

You are not being ripped off. You are free to go to any provider that you want once you have completed your minimum term.dandelionclock30 wrote: »Thank You all for taking the time to reply why should we be ripped off like we are by BT? its not right. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I've cancelled the broadband and I stipulated that I wanted to keep the phone line twice. The man confirmed this would be the case.
I then got an email saying both the broadband and the phone line was cancelled. It has no kidding taken me around 2 hours to then get this sorted with BT and someone is ringing me back on Wednesday to get the phone put back on.
I was waiting half an hour for someone to pick up the phone then kept getting transferred which then took ages as well. It was really stressfull.0 -
The current BT sale ends in 3 days for new customers at £10 pm .0

There will be another and I fancy having a break from the internet anyway and reading more and going to the gym/swimming.0
