Hassle cancelling
V high renewal quote from one call. Their actual service was excelkent. But i found a much cheaper offer. Went on line to cancel. New home policy - declare rejected claim?
Can't word my question correctly for SEO so hopefully someone here can tell me: we attempted to claim on our home insurance for a burst mains water pipe at the beginning of 2024 but as it was wear and tear, the claim was rejected. Our insurance is now up for renewal and we're getting quotes - does the act of attempting a…

Building structure
Trying to sort out home insurance for a property we are buying. The external walls are approximately 60% timber frame with rendered cement board. The first floor of which is cladded in zinc. The other 50% is stone. With no cladding. Do I need a broker to get the best deal? On price comparison sites the nearest options seem…

Insurance or something to hedge against forced obsolescence
Hi I wonder if this might be a fantasy but are there any insurance products or anything that would insure gadgets as they age? We've had a number of iPhones, tablets develop issues after a few years and Apple refuse to repair them - they're classed as 'vintage', which brings to mind those hand painted ads for Coke etc,…

Insuring a Vacant Property awaiting sale
A relative may soon be moving into care and so have to sell the home she owns. She may have to leave it before it is sold, leaving it vacant meanwhile. The estate agent thinks that from marketing the property to completion could take 6 months. My question is about insurance in such circumstances. 30 years ago I found…

So after my insurance went up from £32 to £57 per month with the AA (no claims, no points, 27 years driving,16 years NCB) I found a cheaper competitor and decided to cancel my policy with the AA. LV Home Insurance not renewing
Had an email from LV saying that they will not be renewing our home insurance (buildings and contents). I rang to ask why and they said it is because they have changed their underwriting rules, our insurance has not been refused, and we don’t have to declare it to another company if we're getting a quote. They said they…

Domestic or commuting?
Hi, I'm retired with no other jobs so my car insurance automatically excludes commuting. My wife still works and usually takes the bus. If I run her in to work and pick her up maybe 2 or 3 times a week, is that classed classed as commuting or domestic duties? Otherwise how do I reconcile retired with commuting? Thanks.

Hi all. I'm looking to start some car mechanic work at home on my drive. Hi MSE hive mind, I'm getting home insurance quotes. I need to add info about a claim, bike stolen from outside a supermarket. Moneysupermarket asks: "Was the claim made for this address?" Hi, hope some of you might have experienced some of my issues with AXA’s loss adjusters. Advice very much appreciated.
