Empty property home insurance

About to purchase a property which will be empty and unoccupied until we sell our current home. Any recommendations for brokers or home insurance companies that insure this type of situation would be appreciated.

What's the realistic duration?
Totally empty as in no furniture at all?
No recommendations, its an unoccupied home insurance is a niche product with not the greatest of choices available. Make sure you understand the requirements over time though as many require you to take actions the longer it's unoccupied (eg draining water systems, blocking the letter box, barring windows etc).1 -
I can't comment on how well they would deal with a claim, as luckily we've never had to, but we have used this specialist company in the past for both second home and unoccupied probate property insurance.

I did an online quote with homeprotect, but it had so many exclusion clauses it didn’t seem to insure what you would want to insure.0
