Deleting files on old NAS drive
I’ve got a 2 bay Qnap NAS and an old Synology one that doesn’t work properly. They both have 2 HDDs in them. I don’t need the files that are stored on the old NAS drives as it’s also on my PC. I’m looking at getting a Synology 923+ to run as a media server and backup. Will I just be able to put all the old HDDs into my new…

Small printer required
For years I've had a HP printer and found their monthky ink charge ok, but for six months I hardly use it. We moved to flat and I dumped lots of stuff, including the printer. Now I miss not having the opportunity etc. Would anyone care to recommend a small printer with cartridges that I would replace when I needed please.

Help creating an automated workflow - extract data from .pdfs
Hi all, This is a very specific question, but I hope someone may be able to help with finding a solution. I receive PDFs at work, and I need to extract some of the information contained in them, then create a new PDF with only that data included. In an ideal world, my workflow would go something like this:1. I email the…

Renting a Mac?
I am on the point of migrating from Windows to Mac but because of 1 or 2 apps that I rely on (primarily speech to text and I gather Dragon NaturallySpeaking no longer exists for Mac), I would be interested in trying out iOS first. A mix of home/home business use. I see various services are offering Macs for rent. I was…

Best kind of Apple Watch screen protector?
Have bought my mother an AW for Xmas for the health & organisation features which I feel will be beneficial to her. My sister on the other hand doesn't think she'll wear it so we shall see. If she decides to keep it then I'm looking to see what kind of screen protector is seen as best for these? The reason I'm asking... I…

PC speakers - static noise when rotating volume knob
These are the speakers I have https://www.logitech.com/en-gb/products/speakers/z623-speaker-system-thx.980-000404.html or at least they look identical to those. I've had these for quite a number of years now. I can't remember if they've always done this but they've certainly done it for a long long time - I'll turn the…

Do usb display ports (D) support fast charging?
I've a Dell Latitude 7390 (13-inch, i5 laptop). There are two versions. One with a Thunderbolt 3 port and one with a display port. The model I have has a D next to the port, so it's a display port. But, I've plugged a 65w fast charger in and it fast charges! From what I read online, which maybe out of date, only the…

What is Samsung Health doing in the background at night?
I usually leave my phone on charge overnight but lately I've been having questions about the battery during the day (don't think it's as good as it used to be but not 100% sure). I woke up for the toilet around 4am & it had maxed out at 85% so I took it off charge. I then woke again at 7:15am & took a look at the usage as…

External hard drive connection?
I have a approximate 10 year old 'Seagate Free Agent' external hard drive with I think about a 50 Gb capacity. I ran this on a PC which I replaced yesterday with a new model PC. The connection on the Seagate is a 'pin' connection going into the hard drive body and a USB connector going to the PC. This 'Seagate' does have a…

What are the chances of faults with new items ? My stats are high
Well, I have a long history of buying something mechanical or technical that seems to show a fault that the manufacturer has never come across before. This year alone I purchased these from reputable high end companies. A pair of high end pro audio speakers for £1500. The dsp went in one of them. It was replaced. Now…

How best to verify that an android app is from the real financial institution
Until now I've made very limited use of financial apps on my android tablet but I thought that I would download the NS&I app to give me easier access to the various accounts I have with them. Microsoft Outlook & lost email drafts??
EDIT TO SAY: Phew, problem sorted. Managed to get the final edit. I can't delete this thread so carry on. Basically I've typed out an email to my solicitor which with typing, deleting, more typing & more deleting…
