Sleep tracker recommendations
I was wondering if anyone can recommend a sleep tracker. Ideally one which will indicate how far off I might be from deep sleep etc. One which monitors steps etc would be a bonus, but it's not a dealbreaker.

Samsung Galaxy A14 - now to dismiss alarm?
I have the "alarm" of the clock app set to go off at the same time every day. Once it goes off, how on earth do I dismiss it? I've tried various things but have only succeeded in snoozing it. I don't want to snooze it - I want to tell it "OK I've heard you, now shut up until this time tomorrow!". How do I do that? It's…

Text Messages not being received on Apple iPhone SE 2020
Hi, I'm trying to help a relative set up a new savings account. As part of the set up they need to receive an activation/verification code by text message. The bank is Raisin. For some reason the text messages are not being received. Raisin say they have the correct phone number. When I text the relative, the messages come…

twitter/x
Finally, after about 15 years, I was starting to find Twitter useful. There used to be so much junk to wade through that I didn't use it, but then I discovered Tweetdeck which didn't seem to have superfluous stuff. I found it quite good to have up to follow the news on topics of interest to me. But not that great. So that…

NHS jobs - CV pasting
Hi - I have a completed CV on word which NHS jobs wants me to copy and paste to the application form. But doing so then shows everything bunched up on the application reader, no paragraphs etc I read I need to copy and paste as plain text but there is no option on android? I then tried to hand type things, but saving…

Android 10 Go to Android?
I have a Nokia 1 smartphone that has Android 10 Go installed. It will not allow me to install certain apps I want because of this. Is it possible to install a full version of Android and replace Android 10 Go? Even Android 9 would be OK. Or should I just buy another phone making sure it does not have a Go version of…

"Outlook Live" calendar
I've tried to find out how I can save my Outlook Live calendar, but I can't find any way of doing this. The closest I've come is on the print option, where it displays up to 9 events for each day of the month, but that's no use to me as I have many more than that per day. Am I trying to find something that can't be done?

How do I get faster speeds with 4G router?
Hi this is my 4G router: It says it goes up to 150 mbps, but I am mostly getting less than 10 mbps, and often less than 2 mbps with the booster that came with it. It's not wired to my laptop, but I did get around 20 - 30 mbps in my old flat, and that was using wifi too, not wired. What can I do to make it faster? Will…

Another CCTV thread
Hi all I've finally getting around to looking at CCTV for my home. I'm hoping to have quite a simple setup with just a single camera. Now for the potentially awkward bits Needs to have somewhat decent night-vision (street-lights around here are garbage) Needs to be either battery (with decent life)/solar powered (if these…

New Broadband router question
BT are sending me a new router to supposedly solve my recently intermittent broadband. I am a bit sceptical that it will but it seems we have to go through this step before a engineer is sent. I have a couple of dozen devices that use my WiFi, including a couple of friends' phones and laptops who connect when they visit.…

Google maps, adding stops
Yesterday I was wanting a time for a motoring route in the Yorkshire Dales, using a route which didn't just follow the shortest route, but visited certain places along the way. I used to key in the start and finish, using stops to force the route along the path I required. I couldn't see any options for adding stops! Has…

Another what to buy question
My friends think I am tech savvy but I’m not, my knowledge is just superficial - just how to use packages. I currently have a very old desktop, originally running windows 7 but upgraded to 10. It was fine for a few years after the upgrade but now seems very slow. I am increasingly just using a laptop, but that’s quite old…

'Marketplace' shortcut has disappeared from my Fb page.
Just that. It's gorn.I can still find it by doing a 'search', and it still works as it should - my listings are still on there. But the only icons I now have along the top of the Fb page are: 'Home', 'Friends' (don't have any. Ok, two.), 'Video' (don't want it), 'Gaming' (want that even less), and 'News' (I get that from…

TV 'boxes' to use with a 'commercial' TV.
Hi. Thinking of buying a com TV as it's cheap but also will be primarily used as a PC monitor, so should be ideal. It's an LG, is HD, but they seemingly do not have built in tuners or nuffink. It would be 'nice' for it to also act as an occasional TV, tho', and the current owner apparently uses an Amazon 'Fire' stick for…
