Best budget ish soundbar- just plugged in Samsung and unsure.
Hi. I have used a yamaha yas93 (now discontinued) for years. No sub no other speaks and I genuinely felt like it was closed to surround sound. Now I'm only changing it because of dramas with a soundbsr that mean it won't fit but also the optical socket in my TV is knackered. Have plugged in a Samsung hw b5550 tonight (with…

Teamviewer alternative for providing IT support to family
I'm currently using Teamviewer to remote into my mum's laptop when she has an IT problem. But they've recently launched a new interface which is abysmal and makes basic tasks almost unuseable. For the time being you can stick with the old interface but they've said that option will at some stage be removed, so I'm looking…

Switch controlled by Alexa
I installed a couple of switches to control the under cupboard lights in the kitchen. One of them has stopped working. The ones I used were Sonoff BasicR3. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07WFM246Q They have been okay, although I am disappointed to have a 50% failure rate in 3 years. Should I use something different…

What's going on with my location?
For a little while now my location has been wacky on my PC. It's never pinpointed me precisely (which surely is a bit wrong since I'm connected to the router via cable?!) but it's generally got me somewhere close-ish. Lately though I've just been way off. A few 100 mile away. Google Maps is one that's been getting me…

How on earth do you (legally) buy/download music these days?
I could hop on YouTube & acquire it that way but I want to do it via proper means. It's been that long since I bought any new music that the 'old ways' seem to no longer exist? I'm not interested in streaming at all so that rules out most of what search results are telling me. And I'm not looking at illegally getting music…

Scan Old Slides to PC
Digging through some memorabilia and found a load of slides. We have borrowed a Maplin Gadget 5MP Film to PC Scanner which works reasonably well but is very tedious to use.
