IPad & Bluetooth

I have two old IPads both with Bluetooth.

I have been trying to get them to communicate with a fairly new PC running Win11 either by using Bluetooth or wired to the PC using USB

With both methods the PC connects with both of the IPads and 'recognise' each other but I cannot transfer any files to the IPad. In both cases it starts to transfer a file and then states it cannot complete; but doesn't give a reason why.

I am suspecting that the problem might be the age of the IPads Any ideas if that is the case?

Even if Bluetooth pairing works, you cannot use it to send files from a Windows PC to an iPad. That’s a Apple platform limitation, not a fault or age issue. To transfer files, you must install iTunes (or more accurately, the required iOS drivers that come with it).

    As I understand it:
Simply recognizing the devices is not enough, successful file transfer often requires up-to-date protocols that older iPads do no have.
Compatibility issues are common with older iPads and newer Windows PCs.
