Can anyone help me?

I have a fairly new Motorola G75 that I'm generally quite pleased with.

The only problem I have is that when I get an incoming call the screen always shows 'unknown' even thought I have the contact saved. All whatsapp messages and texts show the name.

I am going slightly mad trying to find out what to do, I seem to have been in every setting and I'm not getting anywhere at all.

I am definitely too old for technology!

I would be grateful for any suggestions, Motorola are impossible to get hold of.

WhatsApp doesn't have its own contact list, it will use the ones in your Contact List on Android by default.

Check your Play Store for updates first.

Then assuming you're using the stock Android calling app, ensure you have Caller ID on - Phone app -> Settings -> Caller ID.

If I get onto the setting that says default caller ID and spam app I have a choice of none or phone. I've tried both these and neither allow me to see the caller's id.

I got a replacement SIM card that I put in and did a factory reset on the phone at the weekend and still nothing.

Thank you Vitor, it was very informative. 

Looks like it could be a carrier issue, I joined the Sky forum and there are a few complaints with possible fixes.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Make sure the phone app has permission to read your contacts

Thanks Lorian, I've done that and about 10,000 other things!

All the contacts are there, I can phone folk from the contacts list, they just show as unknown when calling. Also annoying that I have no option to see who it was or call back. All very strange.

I've been advised to turn off 4G, I've just messaged DD asking her to call so we'll see what happens.

An update for you - took off 4g and wifi calling and it works!
