Sony Bravia Android TV

For several months, my two year old Sony Bravia Android television has been asking me to login to watch terrestrial tv apps.

BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Ch4 and Ch5 all require me to authorise by signing in on my laptop every time I want to watch. This lasts for a day but the next day I need to authorise again.

It sounds like the Android system is not retaining my ID credentials but despite deleting cookies or history or resetting, this problems persists.

I have no such problems on Prime Video, Disney Plus, Discovery/TNT or any other streaming app.

Does anyone have any ideas? I have Googled and Chatgpt’d but none of their suggestions have worked.

    1. Have you tried the TV without connecting it to the internet, with just the Ariel plugged in?

    2. You could also ask the Sony Community.

    3. If all else fails, then copy your question and ask for a solution, in a different AI chatbot.
    For example: perplexity AI

    Thanks @Eyeful

I am actually fine watching live tv. It is only watching catch up on these 5 channels that presents this problem.

The Sony Community though sounds like a good option.

I hadn’t thought of different chat boxes. Perhaps we need a Compare the Chatbox website 😆

I have nothing to add or advise sorry, but just wanted to say that it may not be the TV itself because we have the same issue and ours is a Toshiba TV.
The same as you say above - no issues at all with Prime, Netflix etc.  just the free to watch ones.
We've never been able to find a permanent fix, just learned to live with it over time  :s

    Thanks @CurlySue2017

If your Toshiba TV is an Android tv then that would be the common factor.
