Cancelling FitnessFirst membership
My son (stupidly) joined Fitness First then unfortunatly lost his job and couldn't afford the membership any longer of £30+. He asked to cancel but they wouldn't him instead "allowing" him to pay only £8.95 for the rest of his contract, around 12 months and wasn't allowed to use the gym. This finished a couple of months…

Treadmill shopping!
Not got a lot of pennies but want a decent treadmill that will last. Must be electronic and with incline adjustment, ideally with speed controls to vary by either 0.5 or 0.1 km/ hr. ideally light and foldable, max £ 200. Any recommendations gratefully received. Thank you

Oafs in the gym
Cute, aren't they? I've been going regularly since I joined. Very regularly. I'm about (checks My Fitness Pal) 30lbs down, have progressed from the first induction workout to doing a mixture of stuff - including a Zombie 5k training on the treadmill, as the weights have already stabilised my joints enough to make it safe…

I wish my local Library was as quiet as this part of MSE
Sadly it's not. On a monday they have about 100 under 5's singing and running around up and down the aisles. Pushchairs and tantrums everywhere. It has to be heard to be believed. I remember when you couldn't even whisper in a Library without being shushed by an assistant. (70's) Great days. :)

Fat Burning Classes?
Hi, I joined a gym last year as I would like to lose weight, tone up, etc. I found that I work best in classes, which my gym does, as I tend to fart around in the gym and don't push myself. These are the classes that my gym does and that I can make it to: Spin, Spin and abs, Spin and Circuits, Ab Attack, Circuits, Bodypump…

Football Substitute Folding Chair - Where can I buy one of these???
How to describe this? At many kids football matches I've seen the substitutes sitting on a fold-up chair, that is a multi chair type thing, so 3 kids can sit alongside each other on the same thing. It's like 3 fold up chairs in one. Like this... However, I can't find where to buy one in the UK for love nor money. Can…

Starting to enjoy the gym again
We joined the gym about a month ago, and then we had snow which meant the first week was a complete write off. From then on we missed afew days here and there, and then another complete week, and I was starting to get really frustrated. However, this week (starting Sunday), we have been four times, and last night was…

Gentle toning exercises
Hi, i'm hoping someone can give me some hints and tips for toning exercises (mainly legs and stomach) that aren't strenuous. I have Fibromyalgia and suffer with joint and muscle pain and struggle with 'conventional' exercise. I cannot run, jog, use machines and can only walk (slowly!) on flat ground :o Problem is that i am…
