Historic PPI claim Nat West
About 7 years ago i contacted Nat West bank with a SARs request about a bank loan i had in the early 90s from a bank account i had closed in 1999. They replied with a letter requesting me to go into my branch with a passport to prove who i was. I did this then waited for a reply. They contacted me back with a vague letter…

Debenhams PPI
Hi I've had a Debenhams card for many years. It was originally administered by GE Money, then by Santander and most recently by New Day. Do I need to complain to all 3 companies to ensure I get all the money back I'm due? Any thoughts welcome. Nigel

Can I ask for intrest on Overpayment?
Hi all, this is not exactly a question of recovering bank charges per se but not sure where else this fits. Having just checked my credit file for the first time in a long while, I have found that new dat ( Debenhams) have held onto an overpayment of £680 on a store card which I thought closed in 2103!! I’ve naturally…

PPI claims firms - any recommendations
Hello, Firstly please don't shoot me, I know that the general guidance is that it is simple to do this yourself - but for various personal reasons I am realistic enough to know that i am not currently in a situation to be able to do this. I am aware that the deadline is looming, and to be honest i am currently thinking…

how to fill in form if I don't have paperwork
Hi, I've ignored the PPI stuff because I didn't think I would be entitled, having not had anything for over 7 years. However, I keep seeing things saying you can do this with older stuff. I had several credit cards, and loans with Lloyds who have been my bank for about 20 years. I know that I will have had PPI at least…

PPI and bankruptcy
Hi I'm new to this so here goes. I know the LAW says you can not re-claim PPI from before a bankruptcy. But if you had loans and mortgages that were payed off in full with PPI on them , then became bankrupt years later . If the PPI I payed was more than what I went bankrupt for to HSBC I should be able to find out the…

Reclaiming bank charges - scam?
Hi all I entered some basic info on an advert I saw on FB regarding claiming back bank charges and fees. I got a call today saying I could get over £1k back...that part seems legit from the research I've done. However this company say they won't charge unless I win the claim, but then they'd take 30%... I feel like this is…

Creation Finance are causing me issues
I have been waiting on Creation Finance who confirmed that PPI had been applied to my store card loan. This dated back to 1990 - pre FCA. They have said that as the loan/store card was sold in store they had no action in selling me PPI and that I should have read everything and that there were no rules about mis selling…

Where to next with Barclays?
Hi all – looking for a bit of advice… In essence, Barclays have not upheld my complaint about mis-selling a Barclays Additions Plus Account back in 2007. This in itself is clearly not the result I was hoping for, but the reasons they have stated for the rejection is what actually irritates me. In their summary and reasons…

Can I reopen old claim
I made a claim against Lloyd’s in 2014 for a platinum account which I was told I had to open in order to get an overdraft. At the time they refunded me £575 this was despite me actually paying a total of £1684 over the years I had the account. I vaguely remember them saying to me that I had used the breakdown cover once.…

Credit card claim
Hi, I am aware that claims can be made for charges and interest on pay day loans, when proper credit checks have not been carried out, but I was wondering if you can make these claims in respect of credit cards? Barclays issued me with a credit card in 2000 without me requesting the same or applying for one. It was issued…

Hi, So I am sending the template letter to barclays, however I am not sure how honest to be with the reasons I believe I was mis-sold; I think it may be better to give less info and let them decide. Nationwide - only consider last 12 months
I started the process of trying to reclaim charges from a Nationwide overdraft from several years ago (2010-2012) claiming hardship. They have responded saying they are only required to review the last 12 months of charges. Is this correct?
