PPI claim help
Hi, I took out a Debenhams store card in 2003, I was very young at the time and when the assistant asked me I wanted to spread the cost and get money off, I thought it sounded like a great idea. When we did the form she asked me if I was working and I said no (my son was very young and I hadn’t gone back to work yet) she…

PPI claims: linked cards
With the help of Resolver, last year I successfully reclaimed some money for PPI from Egg and Mint Cards. In the new tax year I am claiming for PPi from my longest standing credit card, Barclaycard [ at least 20 years ] I have just received a letter which states: "Our records show that you have had other cards linked to…

Reoccurring payments
My son took out AA breakdown cover in November 2015 online and I paid using a debit card as it allowed us to go through Quidco. He believes he cancels before the next year but has no proof. It turns out a reoccurring payment was made in 2016 and 2017 totalling £450 from my card. I didn’t spot this payments before now. He…

HALIFAX £2000 refund - but I think they owe me double...
So: For years. I mean years - at least from 2012 - I have followed the same ridiculous habit. And I always knew it was my fault so I swallowed the costs involved. By the 3/4th of every month I would reach my £1000 overdraft limit. I would then borrow cash off my mum / or have ciphoned maybe £200 to my saver account.…

Financial Hardship, Then or Now?
Apologies if this question has been answered before but if I consider my circumstances 15/20 years ago then yes I would have been in financial hardship... but not currently, so is the term "in financial hardship" relating to the present day? Can I still make a claim for a period where I believe bank charges were…

Help Your Claim - package account charges
Hi, first time poster here! I received a call earlier from a company named Help Your Claim. Now, I don't usually answer my phone to unknown numbers and if I do I've never been sucked in... before now. The chap was telling me how my bank (Lloyds) charge different account fees for offering the same services cheaper on…

Can I reclaim packaged bank account fee since we have paid twice?
Both my wife and I have a packaged account with Halifax, paying £15/month for this. We both also have an "ordinary" joint account with the same bank. I have recently discovered that the benefits we are both paying for would have covered us both, had we just upgraded our joint account, and left our individual accounts as…

Unfair credit card charges over 6 years old
Just after a bit of advice please. I have a lot of unfair credit card charges which are on a card over 6 years old with MBNA. Is it worth trying for a claim with them or will they just shoot me down as they are over 6 years old? Has anyone had any success with claiming back fees which are 6+ years old?

Policy number and date of loan - I've no idea
Hi, I realise this is going to sound bizarre, but I wasn't in a good way for a number of years. With time running out to claim for PPI, I thought I might as well give it a try. I filled in the basic claim form on Bank of Scotland website, and they've written to me with a standard reply, and the five loan numbers added.…

Debenhams PPI
Hi I've had a Debenhams card for many years. It was originally administered by GE Money, then by Santander and most recently by New Day. Do I need to complain to all 3 companies to ensure I get all the money back I'm due? Any thoughts welcome. Nigel

Can I ask for intrest on Overpayment?
Hi all, this is not exactly a question of recovering bank charges per se but not sure where else this fits. Having just checked my credit file for the first time in a long while, I have found that new dat ( Debenhams) have held onto an overpayment of £680 on a store card which I thought closed in 2103!! I’ve naturally…

PPI claims firms - any recommendations
Hello, Firstly please don't shoot me, I know that the general guidance is that it is simple to do this yourself - but for various personal reasons I am realistic enough to know that i am not currently in a situation to be able to do this. I am aware that the deadline is looming, and to be honest i am currently thinking…

how to fill in form if I don't have paperwork
Hi, I've ignored the PPI stuff because I didn't think I would be entitled, having not had anything for over 7 years. However, I keep seeing things saying you can do this with older stuff. I had several credit cards, and loans with Lloyds who have been my bank for about 20 years. I know that I will have had PPI at least…
