Lumps on Dog - cancer
Hi there, Our dog went to the vet recently, and was diagnosed with breast cancer purely down to the fact she has lumps. Is this how vets do this, they do not perform any other tests, they see lump and automatically it is always cancer?

Froggy Woggy - is it a baby?
This froggy woggy was sitting on my sill the other day. Doesn't look fully formed....is it a baby? He sat for quite a while as I snapped a few pics of him. Not looked since to see if he's still around. http://i64.tinypic.com/28w0ayc.jpg

Chronic sickness and diarrhoea in cat
Hello, I'm posting here in desperation, hoping that someone has had a similar experience and can suggest something I haven't already tried. My female, neutered cat (Sally) is 12 years old and I have had her since she was four. I got her and her sister (Mavis) from a shelter but they were not 'rescue' cats in the sense that…

Implications of taking on kitten recovered from cat flu
I'd really welcome people's thoughts and experiences of such a situation..... In a few days' time we're due to bring our beautiful rescue kitten (about 10 months old) home from the centre. When she was found, she was suffering badly from cat flu and almost didn't make it, but the dedicated rescue centre nursed her through…

Need advise re neglected cat
Hi. Me and my partner moved into our new home about 3 months ago. What we think is the neighbours cat started coming around straight away looking for cuddles whenever we where in the garden but apart from a few missing teeth and a runny eye he seemed well fed and nice coat. But it seems like he is outdoors all the time, he…

Recommend a rug/runner for kitchen?
Hi all I have two lovely cats who currently get let in and out by us when we are home, but this week we are going to put in a cat flap for them to come and go as they please (microchipped one). The problem is my garden is currently bog like, and my house has cream carpets throughout! The kitchen is the only room without…

Dogs vs Cats in neighbour's garden?
Hello, I'm a dog person, I have two. The neighbour is a cat person and has one big fat spoiled mean cat. Ironically we don't get on because of laughable hedge boundary issues. Their boundary, their hedge over my drive, my chainsaw. Their cat comes through our garden all the time. I've seen it pooing, marking up my herbs,…

greyhound lump
my greyhound developed a lump about 3 months ago on his neck about the size of a grape the bottom of his jawline. Antibiotics cleared it up, but then it returned a week later!! He had an op under sedation to drain it, the vet suspected a foreign body (grass seed) but didn't find anything inside when she operated. All fine…

Kennel Club Survey - Commercial Dog Walkers
Some time this year, the Kennel Club plans to publish its first Code of Practice for Commercial Dog Walkers. To ensure the Code will be as effective and as relevant as possible, the KC is seeking the views of any UK residents who are paid dog walkers; their clients; and people who walk their own dog(s). Anybody wishing to…

Stupid question of the day - heating broken down - kitty OK?
Don't laugh. :p Our boiler broke down on Tuesday evening. We've had no heating for 36 hours and the house is now COLD. We borrowed a couple of electric convector heaters last night to heat the lounge and our bedroom a bit, but we don't want to leave those on while we're out at work. Now, I *know* kitties go outside in…

When to start allowing kittens outside...
Hi, I've got a couple of 7 month old female kittens. They had everything done before I got them from a shelter, aged 3 months. ie. neutering, microchipping, shots etc. I started allowing my previous cats out after they were neutered at 6 months, but this was in April (17 years ago) when the weather was warming up and the…

Bloodhound rescue dog walk in January - Farnham
Wondering if anybody can help me, I was out with my dogs the other day when I bumped into a couple with two Bassett Hounds. We were chatting about them (I have one and a crossbreed) and then mentioned a local charity that was having a dog walk in Farnham next weekend which I believe was to raise money. I have totally…

Dog with dodgy tum
My lovely terrier cross rescue Pipsqueak has a dodgy tum. I've no idea what's caused it as usually she has a very strong stomach, apart from a bout of colitis a couple of months ago. I noticed her tum problems on thursday as she had 6 squitty deposits (sorry about the description). I took away her food for a day/night and…
