Which cat food does your cat prefer?
Faced with a cat that is bored easily by the same food I am making expensive rejected mistakes in the wet food in a pouch category - some common reactions observed-
Will eat Lidl but throws it up
Loves Sheba for 4 pouches then hates it
Will not even consider Tescos premium.
Liked Whiskas 1 week + then went off it
Will only eat Gourmet first thing in the morning when very hungry
Felix as good as it looks lasted 3 weeks
Will suck the jelly off anything but only eats the chunks out of gravy!
will only eat sausages if they do not have herbs in them.
will always eat roast chicken
will never eat fresh fish but will eat tinned tuna in spring water.
the above three are treats.
Seriously joking aside could do with some advice. Cat is a robust weight but I do not want it to feel hungry!

The Sheba pouches - have you tried the Fine Flakes ones? My cat hates 'normal' cat food, but will eat these. She's refused any of the other Sheba varieties.0

We don't feed anything with grains or sugar added as it isn't good for the kitties and it can cause feline diabetes.
Our cat eats any of the following, but she is mainly raw fed
Natures menu
Roppo cat
Macs
Grantapet
Catz fine food
Feringa

I wouldn't feed my cats any of that rubbish so opted for 'other' My boys and the dog are fed a raw diet and never turn there nose up at itAnt. :cool:0

My cats will eat anything if it still for too long! Tried biscuits with them? Dry food is good for them during the day and then wet food for their evening meal. Mine like the cheapest wet food. I usually buy CoOp's own brand stuff cos there's no nasties in thatBack in the red :mad:

I voted "other" too as I wouldn't touch any of the others with a barge pole. Both my dog and kitties are raw fed and if we need to resort to a commercial food (for convenience when travelling etc) then it's Gentle for the dog and either Lily's Kitchen, Orijen or Purizon for the cats (all grain-free).0

We use Feringa, from Zooplus. Cat has beautiful coat and eats it all up for most flavours!0

My cat seems to have a similar palette to the OP.
He was on Whiskas for years, but we recently shifted to the gourmet pouches and he seems to be more inclined to eat those. He only gets 1/2 pouch in the morning and the same in the evening. The rest of the day he has as much Purina dry food as he wants, and some Whiskas temptations for a treat several times a week. He manages his intake all on his own, and doesn't go mad with the dry food. Average weight (and always has been) and no major health issues (at least not related to his diet!).0 -
My cat used to have the Felix foil pots, but they've become harder to find since Sainsbury's and Iceland stopped stocking them so I tried this one from Aldi

Cat seems to like it even more than the Felix, and its much cheaper at 21p a pack rather than £3.50 for 12 Felix.0 -

Apart from all the carbohydrates which cause obesity and can cause feline diabetes and worsen tooth decay, in pet food vegetable derivatives are also another way of saying sugar/beet pulp. Looking at the ingredients its exactly the same as felix etc.0 -
