My MIL on the other had has fed her cats on only the most pure foods, vaccinated them against everything, taken them to the vet at the slightest snuffle and hasn't had one live beyond 8 years.
Out of curiosity - were any pedigree?Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

My cat is really fussy
She was a stray and when we first got her she'd eat anything, but she's showing us her likes and dislikes now! She hates anything that looks like cat food - anything mushy or 'processed' just won't be eaten. I feed her a mixture of foods but a favourite is chicken flavoured Thrive. She'll eat most of their flavours but she hates the tuna and salmon one., although she'll grudgingly eat the plain tuna one. She's not that fond of fish generally and much prefers poultry. She likes the chicken and pumpkin, chicken and asparagus and chicken and rice Applaws pouches particularly, and she'll eat the little Applaws pots but not (definitely not) the pates. She also likes Canagan and Cosma, in particular the chicken and quail egg. I think she actually has a bit of a delicate tum as richer meats and the more oily fish seem to upset her.
I feed her a mixture of wet and dry and her favourite dry is Greenwoods - oddly enough the white fish flavour is a favourite. She'll also eat Applaws dry and Meowing Heads. I tried her with Feringa but it wasn't a hit, I think the kibbles were too big and they were too hard for her to chew.
Treat-wise, she gets the freeze-dried meat treats from Thrive or Cosma.0 -
My cat has James Wellbeloved dry and Sheba pate or Applaws wet.0

my childhood cat lived to 21. she did have a whole front & back garden plus a whole house & loving family. she ate felix & go-cat. My two eat better than she did - however - I think modern technology means that the food of yesteryear was better than it is - as the food is of lower quality BEFORE it's cooked!
I started these cats on Felix & Go-cat. changed to Butchers classic & burns dried. I did sometimes give them smilla, feline Fayre, animonda carni & bozita wet but decided a few years ago to stop changing their food - yes partly a delivery issue & a financial 1. Now of course I'm revisiting a partly raw diet with no dried whatseover & senior food from Germany (as they contain no additives & more meat that that produced in UK - esp for what it costs me to buy!)0
