PPC, parking restriction signs were laid down after parking occurred !

Birmingham CAZ - I know I’ve got no way out of this, but no harm in asking
Long story short, I forgot to pay my £8 charge, and now they want £120. I can’t afford this. Tough luck to me. however, I paid for a CAZ charge 7 days later. They’ve rejected my appeal. My appeal was “I thought I paid this fee with my second entrance to the CAZ” Do I have anyway out of this?
