Old style things to do with a week off work
I have 2 weeks off work (2nd two weeks of June). I am going away for the second week but I am looking for ideas for things to do with my first week. I know it sounds wonderful to have a week off work but I will be on my own and I am not always good at being on my own - I need things to keep me occupied to stop me from…

Storing hard boiled eggs
I have an egg to use before tomorrow (use by date) as we are away for a few days. I have already had eggs for breakfast so was wondering whether if I hard boiled the last egg, would it keep until at least Monday in the fridge? Not sure how use by dates work for raw food when you cook it! Thanks

Run out of meat!
So....we've been mowing our way through the freezer as well as we can, I have been putting more stuff in it but frozen vegetables and grated cheese. Now I realised last night that I have some chicken kievs, chicken breasts, bacon, salmon (already cooked just needs putting into a fish pie) and about 8 sausages left. So this…

Bread making
Feeling very pleased with myself, bought the Aldi breadmaker on Sunday for £30; did a white loaf yesterday (still here in part) and made a tomato and Parmesan loaf for tonight's dinner. Feeling very proud of myself and know I've spent nothing like what I normally would on those two loaves - obviously minus the purchase…

Snack ideas...
I need some ideas of things to have in the cupboard/fridge that can sit happily until wanted as a quick snack. Suitable for adults and a dd aged 6. I'm a SW member so needs to be relatively healthy. In the winter I tend to go for things like mug shots, but I'm not really in the mood for those atm. I don't mind making…

Dates on eggs / how long do they keep for?
I have eggs in the fridge and I don't know whether I can eat them or not. They were bought at a farm shop about a week ago. How can you tell if an egg is still edible, I would rather throw them away than get salmonella. Thank you

Is there a use for an old single duvet?
I've just replaced my dd duvet, before I throw the old one away I was wondering if there's a use for it? Other than it's original use obviously. It does need a clean. I have an allotment, is there a use for it there? It might be that there's no use for it and I will bin it, but it seemed wasteful to just chuck it in to…

Spray mops
Has anyone here used those Vileda spray mops? I am tempted as I hate using a bucket and am currently using floor wipes with a flat mop but the floors don't seem as clean and the wipes curl up which can be a pain. However I've priced up spray mops in Wilko, their own brand is €18 and the Vileda is £24 so I'm so wondering if…

How to remove scale mark from a glass vase
I bought a lovely glass vase from a charity shop, but when I got it home I found there are water scale marks on the glass. I've tried non-abrasive scourers, limescale remover, steradent etc. Any other ideas how I can get the glass sparkling again please?

Oven to microwave convection....
Hi all, just purchased a new Panasonic microwave that has a convection oven feature - this is new to me and I'm not sure how it works, but it seems it can replace a whole oven? Is there an easy way to convert oven times and temps to ones that will work in the microwave?
