Fridge food - advice please
I wonder if any of you lovely people could help me save some serious money. At the moment I'm spending way too much on food as most weeks I don't know how many evenings I'll be at home so I either a) buy lots of food that goes off or b) buy nothing and end up eating out. So I'm looking for suggestions for meals that I can…

Cleaning a fire screen
Hi. I got myself a very cheap art deco style fire screen at a flea market over the weekend. I don't know what metal it is made of - it is quite flimsey and I suspect that it is some kind of electroplated metal - the back is black but the front is a kind of pinkish tarnished colour - I suspect silver colour underneath. Does…

Wilkinson's Selling Wine and Beermaking Equipment
I was sad that companies like Boots or Wilkinson's aren't stocking equipment for making your own wine and beer. After all, if you buy a bottle of wine or a six-pack of beer, much of the price that you pay is tax. The good news is that Wilkinson's are stocking this equipment again, and that includes concentrates for making…

I think that Feng Shui is helping our finances...am I nuts?
Yes, really...you make think that I (and Donald Trump and Richard Branson) are nuts but I would like some opinions on this. Note to Squeaky - you may want to move this to The Arms as it's a discussion rather than outright MSE tips but I would value the kind hearted, sensible OldStylers views on this before you move it…

my guides have requested an activity of baking apples this week. I've looked in the good old good housekeeping recipe book and there they recommend filling with mincemeat, which sounds nice enough but i think some of the girls might not like mincemeat. We have a 10 month old baby and every other weekend I cook a few meals which are then split and frozen.
