I bought some Peach Low Fat Yoghurts today from the Co-op. 125g
Use by Date 4th June - 9p.
I got three.
I know some people have different views on Use by Date & Sell by Dates, but would I be ok to use them, lets says on the 5th,6th & 7th.
Wondering how much Im pushing my Luck?
Or even, something I could do with them which I could maybe still eat, at a stretch on Monday Night or Tues

You could freeze the ones that you don't eat tonight.
Then pop one in your bag for your lunch. It will have thawed out by lunch and will keep everything else cool.
I would be fine with the use by date if they are frozen quickly!0 -
I wouldn't even bother to freeze them.
Yog lasts for AGES - in fact with the Muller corner ones, I keep them deliberately until after the UB date as they are nicer (thicker). I always think yog is OK unless it has visible mould on it.
This all assumes you're not pregnant or very elderly, in which case listeria would pose you more of a risk.Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
I had a feeling that yoghurt would be ok, even a few days after the Use by Date. like alot of things.
I bought them so I could have them for Lunch during the week. I thought about buying the 5.
To Freeze or not to Freeze that is the question0 -
I thought yogurt was supposed to be "off" anyway. I never pay any attention to the use by dates on yogurt if it hasn't been opened.I like cooking with wine......sometimes I even put it in the food!0

I only ever have plain & much prefer it a bit aged, I've used it more than a month 'out of date' with no ill-effects0 -
When yoghurt goes off the foil/plastic lid tends to balloon up and you'll find it tastes awful.I like to live in cloud cuckoo land :hello:0

I'm sure shops' use by dates are deliberately conservative, so that they won't get in any trouble in case something *is* off.0_o0

I've eaten yogurts which have been a month after the use by date
They've been absolutely fine (and I've been ok too)! :rotfl:0 -
I made raita to go with tonight's curry with a tub of plain yogurt dated May 4th & it was absolutely fine
I have to confess that I found another tub behind it dated 28th March& that went down the sink! I rationalised it by telling myself it's good for the drains
