Flexible ISA question
Question about ISA flexibility: I understand how flexible ISAs work but I'm unsure about what happens when you do transfers to and from flexible ISAs. I opened a Monument Flexible ISA this year with contributions from this tax year. I then did an ISA transfer from Monument to a Kent Reliance ISA which is Non-Flexible when…

Can't open a second Cynergy fixed rate ISA, even for previous tax year subscriptions
I'd like to open a Cynergy fixed rate cash ISA and arrange an internal transfer from my existing Cynergy Online (easy access) ISA into it but it appears that I'm not able to open one, either via the Fast-track route when logged in to online banking or as an existing customer applying via the website. As there are options…

Stocks and Shares ISA
I have no idea where to start with this. Although I am reading through the guides now, I have no idea where to invest my money. This money amounts to £1000 a year, of which gets paid in monthly. Can I pay this direct into the ISA account or does it have to get paid to the intermediary account and I have to manually put it…

Zopa ISA Issue - Can I move cash to another provider without a transfer?
Hi, When I setup a Smart ISA at Zopa I didn't realise there was transfer lock-in. That is, I can't transfer one of my Smart ISA pots, I have to transfer them all at once. Very annoying, as the pots are fixed over different periods. So, can I just withdraw the money from one particular pot and put this in another ISA…

Withdrawing from flexible ISAs and annual allowance
Hi, Can I please check if money withdrawn from this year's ISA subscription in a flexible ISA still contributes to the £20k cap? I have a flexible Zopa ISA, funded this tax year. I also have a Plum ISA (non-flexible). At the start of the tax year I put £5k in Zopa, and have also funded £15k to the Plum ISA (so total £20k,…

ISA question
Hi, I’m a bit clueless with ISA accounts.I have a cash ISA fix 1 year with paid in £1.6k at 4.10%.It will go down to variable rate after a year (I’m assuming this will be April 2026). I have £12k in a saving account, I’m assuming I can add this to my current fix 1 year cash ISA till 5th April 2026, and then I can transfer…

Starter Savings Rate for higher rate tax
My father is a very cautious investor..his is retired, but has no income other than the interest payments from his savings (no pension, rental or dividend income). I have a question about the use of the starter savings rate in the fortunate situation where the annual income from his savings will be over the higher rate 40%…

PSA: Check your HMRC Tax Calculations if you have a Zopa Cash ISA
My Experience: HMRC said I owed £308 due to untaxed savings interest. I knew this was wrong as my savings are in a Cash ISA. After investigating, HMRC acknowledged a major flaw: Zopa did not correctly report the account as an ISA, so HMRC treated it as a taxable account. The Real Issue: HMRC's notices are vague. They don't…

Tembo can they be trusted
I recently opened a fixed cash ISA with Tembo. I initiated an ISA transfer from another Cash ISA with the intention of adding to this by utilising the remainder of this years ISA allowance to provide an additional boost. As I bank with HSBC I found that it was not possible to initiate a cash transfer into the Tembo ISA as…

Transfer out Trading 212 cash ISA
Hi, I'd like to transfer out my T212 cash ISA and had two questions. 1) Does anyone know which cash ISA providers can do the transfer digitally, ie where I wouldn't be required to download a paper form and request it by post? 2) I recently tried it with Charter Savings bank but they insist on a sort code which T212 don't…

Moving £45k into a Stocks & Shares LISA - How Would You Invest It?
Hi! I had originally planned to use my cash Lifetime ISA for a property deposit, but it's now likely I’ll be inheriting a home and no longer eligible to use it for a property. So I’m transferring my LISA, a pot of around £45,000, to an AJ Bell Stocks & Shares LISA and will now invest it until I turn 60, in 20 years. I’m…

Trading 212 - How do I get the free shares?
Can someone walk me through how I get the free shares? I have never had an account before. Opened one, and have added £100+ in a S&S ISA. I've chosen my "pie" and from what I understand, on Monday, Trading 212 will buy shares in my chosen pie and I'll be away. How do I see the free shares and decide where I want to invest…

Is Multiple ISAs the Best Way Forward?
Never had an ISA before as I didn't have enough cash to reach the tax threshhold. Now I have. I have six savings "pots" attached to Chase for various things. Each one saves around £1000 a year. I don't really want to change how I bank but it seems those pots, together with my current account interest will start tipping me…

Cash ISA Transfer
I
follow the mse advice and when there is a better cash isa rate I transfer it. However,
twice this year the money has been released from the old cash isa on the
Friday and then it is credited to the new cash isa on the Monday. I
lost two days interest on both occasions. On over £300,000 this is a lot of
money (£38 per…

Trading 212 - what do we think?
Hi all, New to the forum so please be gentle with me. I want to invest in a cash ISA (haven't used my allowance up for 24-25 yet) and I am seriously considering Trading 212. I've used Shawbrook Bank and Charter Savings Bank in the past and had good experiences with them so I'm not new to online accounts. I know Trading 212…

Multiple stocks and share isa
It is my understanding that since April 2024 ‘the rules’ allow me to have multiple stocks and shares isa. I would like to…

Transferring Cash LISA to S&S LISA? Or S&S ISA?
I wonder if anyone has any advice on this as I am struggling to find the answers. I am age 48 and took out a cash LISA when I was 39. As a home-owner this was for retirement. I've been maxing it out and now am now down to my last 18 months of being able to contribute. I am currently getting a rate of just over 3% interest.…
