Part transfer 2 ISAs to a new ISA
Hi - I have 2 ISAs that mature this November. The additional interest will take them over £85k so I thought I'd move money from them both to get below the FSCS limit. I was wondering if you are able to open a new ISA by transferring in from 2 different ISAs or do I have to open 2 different ISAs and then transfer to each…

Reeves' ISA review
Will be interesting to see what comes of this. Potentially restricting the amount of cash one can hold in an ISA or reducing the cash ISA allowance to just £4k. I think its important to try demystify some of the (often incorrect) concerns about investing, so that these potential change(s) actually encourage more people to…

Bed and ISA - loss in trading account carried forward to use against future gain?
Hello everyone, As part of Bed and ISA strategy, I am going to sell shares worth of £15,000 in trading account and then buy back in ISA account. But it will create a loss of around £15,000 in the trading account. Yes, the shares lost around 50% of its value. My question is, if I have no capital gain during current…

HSBC New money v Old money
An old relative opened an HSBC ISA up using new 25/26 money last week, not realising they had their 24/25 HSBC ISA maturing a few days on - which has now matured into a lowly 2% ish rate easy account money. I said maybe go back and get them to find a way to combine the 2 into one as it'll be in the cooling off period.…

I know about Shawbrook as I have one about to mature but the new rate is only 4.02% There is another one, can't remember the name but not suitable coz they won't let you have current year isa's with other banks as well and I have a few this year. Any suggestions? Need to decide quickly.…

Trading 212 - now showing "replaceable funds" separately
I complained to Trading 212 a while back that the way they display your remaining ISA allowance is misleading. Credit where credit's due - they have now separated out your "replaceable funds", i.e. previous years' funds that you have withdrawn, and this is shown separately from your used/remaining ISA allowance for the…

Plum app cash ISA
I might be showing my age but I just opened a cash ISA on the Plum app. The app shows the cash in my account, but I have no account number or any other personal details. It feels a bit odd not to have something tangible to connect myself to the money. Is that just how it is nowadays? Please tell me I've nothing to worry…

Opening new stocks and share ISA as POA is proving impossible and is a disgrace
My father has dementia and I have POA and have been managing his accounts since 2020. Managing EXISTING accounts is fine, but I'm finding it impossible to open a new ISA. Background: My dad is now in a care home, paying £1700 per week. He has around £500k which is enough for about 5 years. He has accounts at Lloyds which…

Transfer out from moneybox - Closing balance does not include July interest
Just generated a statement now transfer out is complete (48 hours after requesting) but it only shows interest up to July 1st in the closing balance. I can't see how much they have sent to Close Brothers yet but will it include any interest due for July or do they pay this another way? Thanks

Mature ISA transfers loss of interest
When I have transferred several ISA between different banks having given them more than 15 days notice prior to the maturity date the bank closing the account has transferred the money to a low interest account and then several days later transferred the money to the new ISA. This has resulted in loss of interest…

ISA transfer experiences
My most recent experiences. First the bad and the ugly: * Monument to Santander. The request had to be made on paper, which I handed in to a friendly Santander employee in Branch. 6 weeks later, there had been nil progress as the form apparently "didn't reach the right department" (in Santander). This means I missed out on…

A pain in the PLUMs
On MSE recommendation I started a PLUM Cash ISA. No real issues, other than the usual digital format over-optioned click fest app (no I don't want this app to be the conduit of my life with various add ons and options - just want to save money get interest end off). The issue is now - trying to transfer the ISA out. As it…

ISA transfer funds issue
I have a matured fixed ISA with Shawbrook Bank, which has now been moved by them to an easy access ISA. I completed the ISA transfer online form with Virgin. Moneybox interest drop with cash ISA transfer
Hello everyone! I am currently transferring my Moneybox cash ISA due to the introductory interest rate ending. I have had a cash ISA since they were introduced back in 1999 and they seem to take longer now to transfer than ever. My main concern is I only requested the transfer through Tembo 2 days ago and I just received…
