New Virgin fixed ISA
Just tried to open one. Due to weird thing about their sort codes, I'm prompted to register as a new customer even though I have some accounts with Virgin already. I'm being asked to create new user name and password. Does this mean I'll have to log in to 2 different accounts in Virgin to see my different accounts or will…

ISA APSallowance
I have an APS allowance following my wife's recent passing, but have already invested my full £20000 for the current year and wish to use the APS to open a new cash ISA with a different provider. (I am at the maximum protected amount with my existing provider) I am looking at Trading 212 but seem unable to get a simple yes…

One or two year fixed ISA?
Hi there folks, Hope everyone is doing good, I have an ISA that is due to mature soon and can get a one year at 4% or a two year fixed at 3.8%, so just wondering what to go for? Earliest date I can open Shawbrook 1Yr ISA to transfer in Santander ISA maturing on 21/09/2025
Maybe I'm just not good at reading between the lines but I've asked Shawbrook this question three times, phrasing it a different way each time, and am still unclear on the answer. The responses I received note that the transfer-in request must be received within 14 days of opening the Cash ISA, and that the Cash ISA to be…

What to do with 25 year old stocks and shares ISA
Completely confused and out of my depth re action to take with what appears to be a particularly underwhelmingly pointless stocks and shares ISA which I've had for over 20 years with a value of very little more than the monthly contributions made over the period. Initially attempted to make a simple transfer to a normal…

Isa Confusion!
I get so confused with ISAs so please bear with me! Firstly I have an Isa with Tembo, I had two allowances of £20,000 held representing my allowances from 24 to 25 and my current year 25 to 26. Firstly I got confused because the Tembo's Isas are branded as 'easy access' and I thought that meant you could put money in and…

Can my fiancé pay into my ISA?
My fiancé and I are saving for our wedding. I have opened an ISA to save for this. He has been sending half of his pay into the ISA the last 3-4 months to contribute to the saving. I’ve suddenly realised I’m not sure if this is allowed?! He doesn’t have another cash ISA but does have a help to buy ISA. (And has only out…

MSE misleading on Trading212 ISA
MSE claims that Trading212 is "offering a loss-leading high-rate cash ISA" to attract customers when in reality all Trading212 does is stick your money in a money market fund, something you could have easily done yourself on any other platform to earn SONIA. This makes me seriously doubt MSE expertise and reporting on…

Being Indirectly Taxed on "Tax-Free" Personal Savings Allowance – Is This a Mistake?
Hi all, I’m hoping someone can help me make sense of something that doesn’t seem quite right. I’m a UK higher-rate taxpayer and complete a self-assessment return due to receiving dividends alongside PAYE income. This year, I had £432 of interest income from savings — well within the £500 Personal Savings Allowance (PSA)…

Annual Interest on Flexible ISA
I'm looking to take out a flexible ISA, with £20,000 of savings. I might not have the money in the ISA for the full year. If the interest is paid annually, will I get interest on the money that was in the account for the period of the year that it was there? Thanks.

Source of Funds checks for ISA transfer
Has anyone experienced SOF checks when transferring a large (>£100k) ISA? I ask as my ISA balance has built up over decades and it would be very onerous to demonstrate the precise source of the entire balance if the provider I transferred it to asked . It has primarily come from small amounts of savings from employment…

ISA understanding
There is a ISA on offer from CMC investment offering 5.44% easy-access Cash ISA (4.59% variable + a fixed 0.85% bonus for 90 days). Can anyone explain what this means? Variable is changeable, but does it mean it doesn't go below 4.59%? And I would get and additional 0.85% after 90 days on my savings? Any insight would be…
