Status of FSCS recovered ISA money
In the hopefully unlikely case of a bank holding your cash ISA failing, and you then recovering your lost investment from FSCS, will you have lost the ISA status of the recovered cash, or can you apply to have it reinstated when you take out a new cash ISA with a different bank?

Nationwide/Virgin merger and Isa's
Was wondering what people are thinking about the probable merger and how it may affect Isa's held with them. This is a quote from an email sent recently: If you have a notice account or a Fixed Rate Bond which hasn’t matured yet, you can take your money out between 24 February 2026 and 1 June 2026 without giving notice,…

Offset and savings question
Hello all you lovely frugal people. For the first time in my life I have have the option of using some savings to offset against my mortgage and I wanted to run something past you all to see if I have misunderstood or over simplified things (very possibly). A quick overview of my position. 5 Years ago I took some extra…

Gatehouse transfer in
Does anyone have an experience in GH paper transfers in? I applied for 4.21% fixed and requested full transfer from Teachers BS. At the end of my application GH asked me to download, print, sign and post transfer form. My question is - will GH accept a signed form sent by e-mail as an attachment? TIA

Cash ISA consolidation
Hi all, apologies in advance for what might be a subject discussed before but I have searched and can't find the answer. I have several fixed term cash isa's with different providers which all mature on different dates. Id like to have them all in one place so I'm looking for a new provider that will accept multiple…

ISA clarification
Happy New Year! I hope you're all doing well. I would appreciate some guidance regarding my ISA contributions for the upcoming financial year. I am a higher-rate taxpayer with an annual income slightly above £60k. Currently, I have £21k in a Marcus bank account and £16k in a Lifetime ISA. To avoid paying interest on the…

Savings & Tax Code
I've recently been advised I underpaid tax by HMRC and have entered the 40% tax threshold due to interest on savings. HMRC have updated my tax code to collect expected interest moving forward. My questions: 1) Does allowing the previous years of owed tax to be collected in my tax code (rather than making a back payment)…

Help to buy ISA transfer
If you have a HTB ISA which already has the maximum £12k eligible for the 25% bonus and you transfer it to a Lifetime ISA, do you lose the £3k from the 25% bonus that the account would have accrued? eg, if you transfer to a LISA, would you effectively be starting afresh?

I am confused
I feel like an idiot for asking this... I opened my first ISA earlier this year and just paid in enough that I am at my £20k allowance and Trading 212 shows up that I have £20,230 including the interest. My question is if I transfer the £20k in 212 to another ISA after 6 April to get a better rate does this mean it is…

HL Active Savings Cash ISA
Does anyone have any experience with Hargreaves Lansdowne savings platform for fixed term cash ISAs? Specifically, a) how long do you have to fund accounts once opened?; b) you don't appear to be able to transfer in from other cash ISAs to them but I presume you can transfer cash to their S&S and then move it to a cash…

ISA Transfers: Backdating interest to date of cheque no longer common practice?
I recently transferred an ISA into Nationwide. It was from a maturing fixed term ISA, so it seems to fall outside of their more generous policy of paying interest from the date of the application. There is some industry best practice to pay from the date of the cheque, although this might be outdated as it is from 2013:…

Want to transfer out of my Trading 212 cash isa
I tried to transfer out of my T212 cash isa to a fixed NatWest account. I put in the roll number box section my Customer Id from 212. Got a message from NatWest to say contact them. Turns out I provided the incorrect number so I gave them cash isa account Id instead. I have set up a Tembo fixed 4.3% just incase. However I…

Worried about stocks and shares ISA
I understand nobody can say what will happen but I'm a little worried about investing in stocks and shares. It seems with the announcement from the government reducing the amount of cash I can invest in a cash ISA, I'm sort of forced to use stocks and shares. But if the worst happens, I'll loose money, right? I have some…

Kroo flexible ISA transfer to Skipton
The transfer of a KROO ISA to Skipton needs to be done on paper, no electronic transfer. The form requests the ISA account number, but KROO ISAs do not have an account number but rather an 18 alpha-numeric reference, which I got from KROO. Anyone know what is put in the form to transfer the ISA. The Kroo sort code and the…

eToro Cash ISA - QMMF - is it covered by the FSCS or not?
I know money held in QMMFs usually isn't covered, but on the website they straight up claim "Know your funds are safeYour funds are held in segregated accounts with MFM Investment Ltd, which is covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) with protection of up to £85,000." and "Where is my money held? As an…
