Tesco/Aldi price match
We just purchased some French's classic yellow mustard 226g, from Tesco,Cardigan, price matched with Aldi at £1.49, great, we thought, as we were visiting Aldi straight after to complete our weekly shop. Gutted to find Aldi's Bramwells American style mustard £1.49 is 290g !! Unless i'm missing something, this is a massive…

Food Bank Reverse Christmas Advent Calendar Challenge!
OK so I suspect many of us have seen these before but I'll explain the idea anyways.... The idea is to pick one item every day throughout November and get that for your local Food Bank. Some foodbanks do these things differently - they are simply happy to have those 30 extra items (one for every day of the month) all being…

No Supermarket Customer Service
Why do British supermarkets no longer have customer service departments? Yesterday, when I read that Arla Foods (which supplies much of the UK's milk under various brands) has been using the experimental and controversial additive 'Bovaer' in the feed given to cows (and thus the milk and dairy products we buy) I tried…

Loyalty cards and watchdogs
Loyalty cards offer genuine savings, says watchdog - BBC News I am no great fan of our various watchdogs, some of whom seem more like "sleepdogs". So what's your take on the CMA's findings? We use just two schemes: Nectar for Sainsbury/Argos/eBay and Lidl Plus. Nectar/Sainsbury definitely saves us money... just as examples…

New Tesco Challenges Oct 2024
Just had the new Tesco Challenges land in my app (October 2024, not the one from earlier this year). Choose 10 categories, then shop by Nov 10th. My question is is this misleading? Each challenge has a scale, eg Spend £30 = 270 points, £41 = 560 points, £52 = 940 points, heavily implying that if I spend £30 I get 270…

When is a 'regular' price a regular price?
Nescafe coffee (300g) changes price 4-6 time a month at Tesco. Varying from £5.95 to £7.75. How long does a price have to be advertised as a REGULAR price before it becomes a discounted price? I've asked store managers and they say they don't know. Any ideas?

Tesco grocery deliveries - increasing numbers of out of stock lower cost items?
It's been very noticeable over recent weeks that Tesco are restricting delivery of various lower cost items such as butter - and now grapes. What's happening is that the standard priced Tesco items (frequently the ones marked 'Aldi Price Match') are impossible to order, leaving much more expensive products as the only…

Sainsbury's web site
Is anyone else having a problem with their web site? I have a delivery slot booked for Christmas but cannot amend my order due to an error message. Sainsbury's technical support appear to be ignoring complaints.

Missing additional Nectar points on Sainsbury saved items.
On 2 occasions this week I purchased items from Sainsburys using my Nectar card which should attract additional points I had saved on the app. On both days the addition points have not been credited to the account (on day 1 other saved items were purchased and these were credited immediately as normal.) The day 2 purchase…

Aldi Shopandgo
Has anyone tried Aldi Shop and Go? I did first time today, it is cashless. Access into the store by using the app or a bank card. I used bank card. Very helpful member of staff explained £10 is taken from my bank straight away. I pick my items, put straight in my bag. The technology knows I have them and charges my bank.…

Overcharged for grocery items
Its 2024, and you buy your food groceries. You see a knock down price, you take it to the till, only for you to realise you have been overcharged, or, the cashier has doubled the item, and you only have one item. For example, in my case, you have a big shop, you are suppose to trust the cashier, you put everything through,…

Supermarket post-Halloween markdowns
Halloween products were already reduced in my local Morrisons yesterday I'm running a popcorn stall at a fireworks display this weekend so the party bags reduced to 45p will be very useful. What edible or non-edible post-Halloween spooky savings have you spotted?

Asda hiking price
Although this might seem trivial I have found this problem lots of times but now it angers me. Last week Asda Everyday Teabags 1.20 for 80. This week 1.85 for 80 !!! Why? Cost of living supposed to be going down. I switched from Tetley teabags when ALL retailers hiked the price gradually from 2.49 to a whopping 4.99. All…
