Nectar Bonus points

I’ve always shopped mostly at Sainsbury’s and I collect Avios for flights so was happy when they were linked. I usually receive 15 to 20 bonus offers. Last week only 9, 5 of which I have never purchased. This week 5, 3 of which I never purchase. Are bonus offers being phased out? I usually spend £80-100 each week. I’ve sent a question to Nectar but they’ve not replied.

I still have about 18 although some used to be 100 points, now all around 10-20 points.
Slowly increasing my shopping in Aldi.

And they've changed how "your Nectar" prices worked, before I could get the £1 reduced to £0.70 offer just like that, now I need to unlock them and instead of paying less I got a £0.30 voucher to use in the next 6 months.

    Are you using the app?
As that changed last week. You now have to activate the offers, or you will not get the bonus.

Mine are often for the smaller, less economic, size of the item e.g. 2 pts milk, 500g carrots, or a variant of the product. e.g. semi-skimmed milk, that I never buy. And if I buy a pot of dried herbs you can guarantee there's a bonus offer the following week for the same herb! Who uses a pot of dried herbs in a week? They have to go out of date by several years before it's time to replenish them.

Probably my own fault for not paying attention but I found out by accident that you now need to activate your Nectar offers whereas previously they just came at the lower price if you bought one of the items.

I use the hand held scanners and now realise I need to activate my Nectar offers at the start of of my shop.
  • I’m using the app and unlocking the bonus offers and as from this week the unlocking the nectar prices.

I check online before going to the store and activate the offers before I leave home.  In part that allows me to plan for buying things (maybe a week or two in advance of what I would otherwise) in order to take advantage of the offers as well as meaning there's one less thing to fuss about with when I get to the shop.
  • I’ve always done that, but still not receiving many offers, only 6 this week and 2 random items, but did get spend  £110 get 3x nectar.  No good as rarely spend that much. Did an on chat but operative could only say that there’s something special coming. Didn’t offer any reason for my problem. Doesn’t help that my daughter has 20 offers and she doesn’t spend that much in Sainsburys and she had the fruit and veg challenge that I usually get but didn’t.

Noticed today that as soon as I activated the hand held scanner, it alerted me to look at my Nectar offers.
  • Got an additional card that was never used taken off hoping it was blocking something. But no, only 6 offers again and 5 My Nectar prices, all of which I have never purchased. The way things are going I won’t be faithful any longer. It’s since the unlocking business was set up. It’s as though I’ve got somebody else’s account linked to my card who buys a lot of different cheese and toilet rolls. Always previously on items that I regularly purchase.

For some weeks now I’ve noticed a reduction in the “Sainsbury’s Offers” points, with tonight’s offering barely adding up to just over 100 points across the board. The only “increase” this scheme now seems to offer is the increasingly random “Nectar Prices” items that we’ve never touched in all the years shopping with them.
