ADSA rollback prices
I recently shopped at ASDA and 2 of the 5 products I purchased were clearly marked on the shelf as rollback prices. When I got home my partner queried the price on one item and when I checked the receipt I could see that both of the supposed rollback items had been charged at full price. Thinking that maybe I had misread the shelf labels I went back to the store and took some photos on my phone and the prices were still displayed as rollback prices.
I was rather shocked by this as the rollback promotion is pretty much a cornerstone of ASDAs pricing policy.
I subsequently contacted ASDA with photographs as proof but made it clear that for me it was more a matter of trust than the money. Had it been a single item I could perhaps understand that it was a single price that slipped through the net but as there were two rollback prices involved it got me thinking.
How many other shoppers were overcharged on these promotions?
How many other rollback items were affected in-store in the same way?
Was it just my local store or was this a bigger issue?
Modern supermarkets are now run with fantastic technology that should prevent this kind of thing from happening.
Surely we should be able to trust the big supermarkets and surely we should not be expected to have to double check to ensure that the price at the till is the same as the prices on rollback labels.

Definitely escalate the complaint. Either they've put the shelf labels out too early, or left them out too long, or their POS system hasn't updated correctly, but it'll be impacting everyone who's shopping there until it's fixed.

This has been common for years in every supermarket. Which is why a lot of people check their receipt before leaving the store.
Pre Covid, sell out to The Brothers etc Asda used to have a policy of your money back + 2 quid on Asda store card
Other SMs had similar, like double your money back, money back & get it free etc.
Some may recall "Double the difference"

I think it is a general Asda thing, my local is appalling on price labelling, one item I buy most weeks had the incorrect price for around a month. There used to be one member of staff who's job seemed to be going round with the price change trolley changing tickets, not seen her for ages so I suspect that role has gone in a money saving drive. In the good old days local TS would visit and do random checks and there were penalties for non compliance, nowadays it doesn't happen and they are pretty much free to do as they want. That is why I always use the scan and go guns or the app so I can see what I am paying.

I don't think I ever have a week when a price is incorrect. This is exactly why I now self scan - if it scans at the wrong price I take a pic of the label and get them to adjust the price.
