Aldi Dolce Gusto compatible pods anywhere?
Having realised that a Tassimo machine wouldn't take any generic discs, I sold it and got a Nescafe Dolce Gusto one, not realising that it takes the bigger pods rather than the wee ones. I wasn't worried because according to the Web, Aldi (my supermarket of choice) do compatible ones which get great reviews. But I can't…

Bad quality seasonal fruit. Does it happen in your area?
Where I live (South London) I am not finding navel oranges or Williams/Comice pears, which are the best. I have tried, Sainsbury's, Tesco's, Lidl, Iceland and Morrisons. Only Sainsbury's is selling navels but pre packed. Four in a net at 2 pounds. The quality is still poor. The only pears sold loose are conference. Again,…

Supermarket online shopping
Without wading through supermarket sites, does anyone know which is the cheapest for delivery? At present I use Tesco but they have a penalty charge of your 'basket' is less than £40, which is £4 and then packing and delivery is on top of that. Because of this charge, I always buy more than £40-worth but it would be good…

Nicky or Regina?
Need to stock up on loo rolls. I bought Nicky last time, but the nearest shop I can buy them is quite a distance, so thought I'd try Regina this time. Any thoughts on whether the journey to buy Nicky is worth it, or is Regina (which I can pick up locally) just as good?

Selected Morrisons selling eggs individually
Saw this at Edinburgh Gyle Morrisons: https://my.morrisons.com/blog/food/pick-your-own-eggs/ Large free range eggs for 22p each (or 6 for £1). I use eggs occasionally for baking, but otherwise don't really like them and struggle to use up a box of 6, so although it's cheep-er to buy a whole box, it suits me nicely to be…

Best ready made cheese sauce?
Hi Just wondering if any one has recommendations for a good ready made cheese sauce to be used for pasta bake/macaroni? I know most will suggest to make it ourselves but we have tried several recipes and it just comes out tasting tasteless , bland and lumpy- I'm considering buying Asda / Waitrose cheese sauce (comes in a…

How much of a shop can be done at Aldi/Lidl?
I currently do 80% of my shopping at either Aldi or Lidl (we are lucky enough to have them both within half an hours drive) and do a toiletries shop in Asda. The reason for the Asda trip has primarily been because my youngest was still in pull ups at night so I would get these from Asda (lidl/aldi pull ups don't seem to…

Hi I just had an e-mail from Dorset Cereals about a recall of their Gloriously Roasted Nut Muesli 600g.... Jack's (from Tesco) - items recommended to buy (or to avoid)?
Similar threads exist for Aldi, Lidl and other low cost supermarkets - the idea is to gather together recommendations for good value products worth buying. Or, alternatively, ones to avoid. Do we have any Jack's customers out there at Chatteris or Immingham yet? Are the prices competitive with Aldi and Lidl? Is the quality…

Just went to do a Tesco order and noticed the option to review products - about time too :T This is so useful on Ocado's site and hopefully will become so on T - there's certainly a few products that I'll be glad to have my say on, rather than just venting on here !!
