Tesco shopper? The Pay+ and Clubcard apps are closing – don't get caught out at the checkout
Tesco shoppers who have ditched their physical Clubcard in favour of scanning their phone at the checkout, will need to download the revamped Tesco Grocery & Clubcard app to avoid missing out on points. The supermarket is axing its Pay+ app on Monday 27 February, while its separate Clubcard app will also shut later this…

Approved Food problems
Has any one had problems with Approved Food this week? I
put an order in on Tuesday and expected that it would be delivered
within a few days. It hasn't arrived and their website
is rubbish, it just says "Whoops, looks like something went wrong."
whenever I click on "View Order" or on the Order status page.

Bottled water recommendations please
We live in a hard water area. Our tap water comes from a spring, through chalk, but it's so hard that we have to descale our kettle and also our loo ! We drink bottled water because the tap water doesn't taste good. I love Evian, but the price on Amazon for a case is mega ridculous now and it's often out of stock in…

Re-discovering Lidl
The Lidl in our town is tiny and though we used to use it a lot when skint, we haven't been there much, since. OH started new job three weeks ago and discovered a bigger Lidl with plenty of parking, has been bult on a housing estate on his new route. Unlike Aldi, Lidl doesn't have a search function for groceries so I can…

Snow - lots of reductions at Tesco this morning
And I mean really good reductions not just 50p. Bought packs of chicken, cheese, Walls sausages, lots of cans of chopped tomatoes, beans, soup, beer and cider. The assistant advised the reductions were so good because of low footfall. Indeed, the car park of the Tesco Superstore had very few cars. Roads were OK though. May…

Changes to Tesco Pay+
is it me or has Tesco switched their entire Pay+ model to payment up front?? I use a Tesco credit card for all my monthly spend then clear it each month. By tying the credit card to Pay+ I got the extra points and extra weeks of credit to pay. The new card is both your Clubcard and debit card - it requires you to top up…

Yellow sticker discounting at Morrisons
I use my local Morrisons almost daily, and often go by the reduced items section. Has anyone else found the discounting times and levels of discounting inconsistent? On some occasions, they'll reduce the items by a decent amount, and then on others, they'll only knock 10% or so off the price. And the times of day seem to…

MSE News: Shop at Sainsbury's? You can get up to £25 in bonus Nectar points – but there are catches
Nectar cardholders can get between 50 and 5,000 extra points – worth 25p to £25 – when shopping at Sainsbury's on Saturday 4 February. But you'll need to spend at least £20 and do so at a larger store, as the offer is not available at any of Sainsbury's 800 Local outlets. Read the full story: 'Sainsbury's shopper? You can…

Shrinking mango chutney
Bought a jar of Geeta premium mango chutney. First thing I noticed was the increase in cost, up by 40%. But, the big thing I noticed was that both jars, labelled ‘medium’, contained different amounts; the older jar contained 320g and the new jar contained 230g. Is the fact that they were both labelled as ‘Medium’ a case…

Sainsbury’s SmartShop anomalies
For the last few weeks I’ve used Sainsbury’s SmartShop. Every week I’ve found that some of the advertised reduced SmartShop prices aren’t activated and I’ve had to ask the checkout assistant to reduce my bill accordingly. I haven’t actually been able to get through the process quickly (as you’d expect) because of this. I…

Sainsbury's SmartShop and My Nectar Price issue
I've noticed over the past few months that when using the SmartShop scanning device, in store in Sainsbury's, that occasionally the price for an item is higher than the shelf price. This seems to happen when there is a "My Nectar Price" for the item which is higher than the shelf price. The higher price is charged at the…

Tesco's new "5 for 4" clubcard offers are really just huge price rises
Two examples but they are all similar: Ristorante Pizzas top price £3, clubcard was recently £1.50. If you wanted 5 it cost £7.50. Now at the "5 for 4" mug price it costs £12, so £2.40 each. That's a 60% price rise on the previous clubcard discount. Sea Salt & Pepper Basa Fillets top price is £4, clubcard used to be £2.50.…

Nectar - anybody else getting tired of it?
To put it mildly, Nectar are really annoying. I couldn't get into my Nectar account last Autumn (linked with my Wife's card) so reset my account, and for some reason my Wife can't now access her account. We have tried to get them to sort it out, but no luck. They keep bombarding me with emails for special points offers,…

Share your post-Christmas yellow sticker* successes
With some supermarkets already making space for Easter eggs ( :o ) It's the time that Christmas products are marked down to rock-bottom prices. What bargains have you spotted on your travels? Which reduced items do you find hard to resist? Normally I take full advantage of the reductions at this time of year and fill the…
