Yellow sticker discounting at Morrisons
I use my local Morrisons almost daily, and often go by the reduced items section. Has anyone else found the discounting times and levels of discounting inconsistent? On some occasions, they'll reduce the items by a decent amount, and then on others, they'll only knock 10% or so off the price. And the times of day seem to…

Shrinking mango chutney
Bought a jar of Geeta premium mango chutney. First thing I noticed was the increase in cost, up by 40%. But, the big thing I noticed was that both jars, labelled ‘medium’, contained different amounts; the older jar contained 320g and the new jar contained 230g. Is the fact that they were both labelled as ‘Medium’ a case…

Sainsbury’s SmartShop anomalies
For the last few weeks I’ve used Sainsbury’s SmartShop. Every week I’ve found that some of the advertised reduced SmartShop prices aren’t activated and I’ve had to ask the checkout assistant to reduce my bill accordingly. I haven’t actually been able to get through the process quickly (as you’d expect) because of this. I…

Sainsbury's SmartShop and My Nectar Price issue
I've noticed over the past few months that when using the SmartShop scanning device, in store in Sainsbury's, that occasionally the price for an item is higher than the shelf price. This seems to happen when there is a "My Nectar Price" for the item which is higher than the shelf price. The higher price is charged at the…

Tesco's new "5 for 4" clubcard offers are really just huge price rises
Two examples but they are all similar: Ristorante Pizzas top price £3, clubcard was recently £1.50. If you wanted 5 it cost £7.50. Now at the "5 for 4" mug price it costs £12, so £2.40 each. That's a 60% price rise on the previous clubcard discount. Sea Salt & Pepper Basa Fillets top price is £4, clubcard used to be £2.50.…

Nectar - anybody else getting tired of it?
To put it mildly, Nectar are really annoying. I couldn't get into my Nectar account last Autumn (linked with my Wife's card) so reset my account, and for some reason my Wife can't now access her account. We have tried to get them to sort it out, but no luck. They keep bombarding me with emails for special points offers,…

Share your post-Christmas yellow sticker* successes
With some supermarkets already making space for Easter eggs ( :o ) It's the time that Christmas products are marked down to rock-bottom prices. What bargains have you spotted on your travels? Which reduced items do you find hard to resist? Normally I take full advantage of the reductions at this time of year and fill the…

Holland and Barrett buy one get one half price, plus vouchers
I saved nearly £20 today by ordering items on line from Holland and Barrett. They seem to have lots of items buy-one-get-second-half-price. Free delivery on orders over £25.There are also voucher-codes on line to save 10% off £25, 15% off £35 spend. I appreciate that this is an unfair scheme in that you need to be able to…

Morrisons upper management CSA email required

Phantom charges – extraordinary coincidence or robbery by software glitch?
I’m still reeling from a phantom item on my M&S grocery bill, a
self-checkout bill that magicked up a Chicken Tikka at £4.25. That would be
baffling enough but I was checking my bill carefully at the checkout because several
days previously I’d got home and saw a phantom item on my receipt from a (different)
M&S store with…

Lidl Plus code scanning warning
Hi Just a warning about this app - when you scan your card, the fact that the scanner beeps does *not* mean your QR code has been successfully scanned, so be sure to check your receipt asap. I discovered this only when I happened to notice that my 10% Coupon Plus voucher was still active when I thought I'd used it. On…

Surf washing powder
I accept that this is possibly the most inane question I've ever asked in my life, I recently bought some Surf Washing Powder, the Lavender one, on the premise that it would give my washing a divine fragrance, how disappointed was I, I just did a whole load of washing and nothing, I took it out to put it on my heated airer…
