So I woke up and went to make a coffee, great no milk. I know prices on items are going up due to the war, but I was shocked when I went to get a 2 Litre bottle of milk and its normally 1.60 today it cost me 2 pound. curious to know on anyone else's prices and I hope I posted this in the right place.

I can still get 2 litres of (Cornish) milk for £1 from my local Poundland.

Not sure for how much longer

When did we stop using "pints"?

    We haven't, not completely anyway.

    Some shops do 4-pint bottles

2 litres is 3.5 pints so it's a little easier to keep the price down

The UK is self-sufficient wrt milk supplies. The price hike is associated with infrastructure costs, and yes the war plays its part.

I'm a high milk user but am no longer gung-ho in my usage - these days I try to use just enough to make things palatable.

    Where from?
4 pints (2.2 litres) from Tesco is £1.25 for regular and £1.50 for filtered.
Independant corner shops have been around £1.50 for 2 litres for a long time I think.

What's funny is the corner shop has a tatty hand written poster in the window which reads "4 Pint Milk £1" but when you go in they are actually 2 litre bottles.  :D
